Speaking of close shaves lol  My first 5 minutes of the game:
I locked the last one up underground away from the fire spewing salamanders and cave men  (my own addition) lol

A good point - if he ever gets well enough to crawl a little bit (to the depot and back) without periodic pain interruptions, let him be the guy that meets with trade reps and stuff. Since he'll never be doing anything else, it should be easy to get all your meetings taken care of and brokering done.

By the way: What do you call a woman with only one leg?
Eileen!

And where does she work?
IHOP!

This is why we need dorf prosthetics.
He'd probably make a solid gold arm as his artifact.

Dwarves don't need arms to make things, they just beat the metal into shape with their foreheads.

Also:

Both arms and all things attached to them.

As opposed to a severed upper arm with the lower arm still attached?

I wish close calls like this were easier to have in this game, as they certainly are exciting. I fell like most of the time in this game everything is either 100% OK or instantly doomed.

Most games do tend to be like that. It's really hard to strike that balance, but I'm sure Toady will eventually.

This one Dwarf would make a good Hammerer.

Too bad we can't assign this post...
