So, I'll look for help here.

I have the orange box and definitely have the system specs to play it, but everything is horribly laggy. I cannot play TF2, Portal is kinda laggy but it's playable enough that I was able to beat it twice. Half Life 2 has some pretty bad lag, but it's playable.

I'm not quite sure what to do. Anyone have any ideas?

Set it up so your only playing on minimal graphics,and I recommend 800 x 600 resolution or even 640 x 480 if your that dedicated to gameplay.

I have a 30/9 expiry pass, if you would like to play the game early, since I doubt I would find someone else to send it to in that time.
I have portal, got it in january, TF2+Gmod, got them more recently.
Portal is good, portal with the flash version mappack is at least 2 times better.

Dunno, where I live, Orange Box just went from 50 to 30 euro.

Current exchange rate says that 1 euro = $2.03NZ so that sounds about right. I bought it for the equiv to 40 euros.

Spy. Definitely not the most damaging class, but the satisfaction of backstabbing a medic then doing the same to the heavy he was healing is great indeed!

The pyro has a special place in my heart simply because of the pleasure that comes from getting a revenge kill on a soldier with his own crit rocket. One thing that annoys me is that I spent ages trying to get a reflected turret rocket kill, I finaly get one and its the same picture as a reflected soldier rocket kill. (by picture I mean the bit where it has *Killers name* *picture of weapon* *victims name*)

I have it set on the minimal settings for everything except screen size. I'll try that and report back with results.

I only played it on a free weekend, but I had the most fun by far with the spy.  He's so stylish, and it felt really epic when I was running through the sewers, then turned around and perfectly headshotted a scout chasing me.
