Found a shop in the same town that showed similar behavior.



I think it has something to do with the steep slope.

As a note, this part of the world is so hot that all the walls are 'warm'. It still counts as a temperate biome though, i was attacked by wolves outside.

Jeeze, that wall is mangled. The closest I've seen to this is a goblin tower that was built across a slope, which had adjecent mountains blending with the rooftop fortifications (i used this mountain to jump onto the roof)

From the look of it, that house had a proper 5x5 area of rock\soil wall to occupy, but a very weird front door area, and I didn't even realize that they generated freaky roofs like that in the first place.

What it looks like is that instead of replacing the tile with floor for a roof, it's replacing the tile with what was already there, so that where there was non-dug space there is now a wooden wall.

That's probably what happened. This was an all round strange town, those pillars you can see in the first screenshot? That's pilings for an apartment building, Which is three z-levels above the bottom of the longest piling. There's freakin' trees growing under it!
