Also, as it still hasn't been answered - is there a way to store stuff somewhere in a town or something and have it stay there, or will it vanish/scatter/get stolen after a while?

Retire your adventurer, hire him with a different one, murder him and take all of his stuff. Rinse, lather repeat.

I think you can also fill and drop your backpack.

Good luck finding the darn thing after wards...

I guess you can make a fortress and make lead bins, abandon, then grab a bin in adventure mode and bring that to town. Item movement is based on weight, so this might help.

Hmm, maybe if I use the fortress as my storage place, and dump a few lead bars in the lead bins just to be certain.  :D

I demand to know why I am your nemesis.

Something to do with how most of your posts that are direct responses to mine consist of unwarranted aggression.

"Too cheap to buy a surge protector?" in the thread where I mentioned my files being corrupted when my house was struck by lightning.

And

Quoting that I was using a Mac when I reported a problem, then claiming that the fact that I use a Mac *IS* the problem.

By the way, I'm not going to turn this into an extension of that little argument.  Just leave it alone, please.

since prevention of item scattering relies on weight, why not just fill a backpack with TONS of stuff, probably alot of junk too, instead of making a whole fortress to build a single lead bin...

I'm aiming for a massive stockpile of gems and stuff for money, and adamantine armor for my adventurer to get to, along with the possibility that I can arm a new adventurer if (when) the first guy dies.  This is more to supply an adventurer from the start than to manage the inventory of an already-existing adventurer.  Also, I want to set the fortress up as a dungeon-type thing with treasure in specific places, as a kind of reward (for getting to that storage chamber at the bottom z-level of the fortress at the far end of a massive maze, for example).

Bah, use the coins to buy extra arrows and throw those. MUCH more deadly.

Stores sell ammunition now? Do they restock periodically?

I dunno, I distinctly remember retiring a human adventurer, picking him back up and finidng 20 pages of stuff like -Wolf bone Bracelet-

I dumped every single last peice in a random peasent's house, and when I came back later, it was all still there on the same square I left it.

That's from your kills. If you bothered to count, you'd find that you get one trinket for each critter you killed. It depends on what kind of civ you settled in, elves don't condone trophies, dwarves don't like sapient trophies, humans and goblins don't care.

Hmm throwing coins at people and embedding them into their skulls sounds like a great calling card! To be honest I haven't played adventure mode much but when my current fort (my best so far) is done with I'll be visiting it with a adventurer.

I once embarked with a cargo of over 1000 dimple cup spawn then abandoned. I went and picked up as much as I could carry with an adventurer. I then proceeded to "plant" dimple cups in everyone I met.

THAT is signature material. The combination of the quote and your house getting hit by lightning is so... Awesome.
