I had the good fortune to be attacked by a werewolf, and be put onto the map on top of some phantom-spider webs.

Aha!  I thought, and grabbed them for later enjoyment.

Now, I'm not 100% certain... but I think that after I licked them, the webs turned into thread.  I'll have to get some more, and try it out.

Hm, OK - easier said than done.  Has anyone managed to collect any webs other than by ending up on top of them from the Travel map?  I'm not able to alt-step into a web square, or Sneak into one, such that the webs are not disturbed.  Maybe it would work with a higher level of Ambush skill - or maybe not.

Do you have any experience with successful web gathering?

You can usually just walk on top of them then pick them up like regular equipment.

I never actually tried with a creature that doesn't have [WEBIMMUNE], so not sure if it works with regular adventurers.

It's a pity that throwing webs doesn't web your enemies.

Not sticky webs... just regular "urgh, it's in my hair - oh, it's gone" webs.

To date, I've not once managed to walk into a web tile without the web vanishing.

Well yeah.
seeing how you are able to throw them at all, they are probably too dry and wont stick to anything. Or your throwing balls of webs that wouldent do much anyway.

(just for the record, Sneaking with an adventurer who is an Accomplished ambusher does not lead to undisturbed webs.  Damn clumsy-footed oafs!)
