I got on the human civ screen.
« on: September 07, 2008, 01:28:30 am »

Cool, I didn't know you could do this. (Both of them have killed GCS, and have at least 10 giants killed. I retired Linkot after he lost an eye and then he followed Nil for a few months, and now I have a fort in the same world after I got bored of adventure mode.)

Legends says we are mercenaries for the civ.

Hi!

That is really cool.

So, if you angered the humans, you might actually get sieged by your former characters then, if I am not mistaken. Too bad you can't have goblin adventurers in your unmodded games - a nice way of improving their sieges :) :)

Wow.  If I ever got sieged by any of my real adventurers, I'd be screwed.

Wait, you can 'settle' in a friendly goblin town... Oh the possibilities.

Oooh, I just lost a fort in this world after the HFS stopped being H and started being F. The next fort I made, I get a message, the world has passed into the second age of legends.

I apologize, I'm new to the forum and I've got no idea what the abbreviations HFS and GCS mean. Would you be willing to clarify?

GCS - Giant Cave Spider

Let me add that GCS are particulary terrorific and difficult to kill in both adventure mode and fortress mode. That's why they got their legendary status and abbreviations in the forums.

Ah, right. I find that Giant Cave Spiders are a bit less taxing if you've got six skilled, well-armed meatshields warriors with you.

Then again, the one we got was already rather injured was already giving into pain a lot...

So does this happen because you did them a service by killing enemies of their civ?

Probably happens because they did quests for the human civ, thus acting as their mercenaries.  Now I have to keep generating worlds until I get one with humans warring on dwarfs.  Then, I have to create a "succession" game for people to keep making adventurers in the world and retiring them in a single human town.  Then, I get to post the world online for people to use.

It will have the scariest human sieges ever!

Hello LumenPlacidum!

Why not going for the orc civ directly? After all, many people seem to be able to become friends with them, so joining them would be easier and they will still siege the dwarves, I think.

But you have to be careful about aging - unless you go for elven adventurers (now, that sounds nasty - goblin sieges full of elven mercenary adventurers).

That would indeed be excellent, but unless things have changed, you cannot retire in a goblin town, friendly or not.  And, I've discovered that you CAN retire in an elven town, so I found a world where dwarves are at war with elves and am filling up the elven side with mercenaries.

I have retired in gobbos towns since 39c as a dwarf.
