The Journal of Zdurbim Cattenatol, Mayor of Limulgen
1st Granite 206
This is the first entry of the new year's log. I have been
told I am the new administrator of this museum by the previous
incumbent, Malaki Sairrithar, a Dungeon master. All my precursors
have been very academic dwarves, dedicated to history and their
museum. Very admirable, but not good for the running of a settlement.
As my old Grag, Maggarg the Elder, told me, a dwarf will oft set
out to do a task, and he will finish with a folly. This was before he
decided to retire, and ended up administrating one of the largest
mines in the world, and the greatest exporter of salt.
My uncle, Maggarg the younger, told me that where there's muck, there's
generally a dwarf you can rob. My aunt, Maggarg told me to send her
some booze and an axe so she could escape.
I hate my family.
*Later that day*
A dwarf has withdrawn from our dysfunctional society. Disturbingly,
many of the curators are ecstatic! They say that he may create an
artifact for an exhibition.
Talking of exhibitions, I may do an interactive "Human Town" exhibit.
Underground, of course, to please the plebs. The academics will
complain, but they have no conception of the normal dwarf.
Hmm. Perhaps an artificial forest?
The town will be 2 shift-arrows by 2 shift arrows, and will be
about 2 shafts deep.

Must ask the other curators what I should finish.
Naaaaah.
Looked at our stock records and such. I found that the fort is
worth over 1.3 million turtles in value.
However, our imports exceed our exports by a factor of 10.
Still rather impressive with a population of only 83.
4th granite
We have struck malachite whilst mining out the top of my exhibit.
I think we could do with a few copper doors and things.
Very shiny, is polished copper.
We also struck Chrysocolla, a bluish gemstone.
Very useful.
5th granite.
I found the cultures exhibit. Very dwarven. We have goblins in
captivity, battering at the glass walls (Two shoulders of the finest
clear glass.) We also have two peasants and some planned human and
elf exhibits.
Hmm. A deep mine exhibit would be nice.
Yeeees.
8th granite
The digging goes well. A few academics complain that my exhibit will
"dumb up" the museum. I responded that it would at least be accessible
,as opposed to some of their badly-planned exhibits, such as the Hub.
11th granite
The Elves have arrived.I'm fairly sure there's a way to capture them
for the exhibit.
Also half the brook is frozen.
13th granite
I just had to sign about 20 slaughter permits.
Now I know why old uncle maggarg kept asking me if I was
really sure i liked donkey kebabs.
15th granite
I have found that a fortress like this largely manages itself.
This leaves me with a lot of free time. i shall have to ponder
new exhibits.
OOC:
Don't have much time this week.
At rehearsals, doing coursework, at gym, playing bass.
