Let's see, Upon further inspection of other similarly-pathed south-to-north rivers, I will guess
Eugene, Corvallis, Salem, and Portland, although they seem a bit close to the ocean, but oh well.

No. Lots of rivers flow south, but few flow north. I'll also give you guys Midwest.

Anyway, Zak and Markov's turns up a couple of posts. Silu and Frelock, sorry, you two have to wait until tommorow.

You are going to like the special prize that your character gets for beating a challenge. I've got one planned for most of our characters, although some are cooler than others (Rickvoid's especially).

There will be another new challenge after Silu's turn as well.

Frelock: If you figure out anymore challenge answers, just PM me so that I can say yes, or no. You Character isn't allowed another easter egg for the time being.

I get George to try to fix the radio, making sure that I help him if I can. I also try to create a way to secure the ladder so it can hold as much weight as the ladder can. I also make a second, and if I can, third escape route other than the ladder. Also, I ask George if he knows the area and where we can find supplies and ammo with guns if possible. Always be prepared I say!

I never douted that you would post, just was unsure if you would post on time, thats all. No offence.

Ahhh such difficult challenges, yet quite worthwhile! If only if only the Markov could find, the correct answer...

Anyways, with the look of that place, I would say it could make a decent building to stay at for a bit and scout around. Since I don't care for the shotgun too much, I prop it up on something, pointing at the door, and attach a string (it is an office, there must be somethign to use) to both the trigger and to the door, making it fire should the door open. After that, I will move up to the roof, constantly checking around for usefuls and valuables, and scout around with my binoculars, especially looking for any sort of department, hunting, or weapons store, or anything similar that could have some better knives, handguns, or rifles.

Also, Sterling? Central City? Nebraska City? Leavenworth? St. Charles? St. Louis? I have decided I shall not give up until every city in existence that makes sense is named! And if none of those, then every city, period!

Unfourtunatly, you lack any bullets for the shotgun.
Also, if you want, Markov could find a phone book and figure out where to go from there.Otherwise, it might take most of the turn to climb to the top (esp. if there are any zombies) and then climb down. The best bet would be to head off to the big sports store, I suppose. I'm SURE that it's completely deserted!

There isn't much for me to write about with your action. I'll post the conversation between you and George sometime today or tonight, then you can have another turn. You won't find out about the radio until a real turn though.

We have a couple of new gameplay elements added now.
1) NPC's, you can have conversations with NPC's without using any in turn time (you can't do much else though).
2) In Tile/ Out Tile movment- Until now, all movement has been within your starting tiles, if you want to leave them, mention it in the action post. It takes about a fourth of a turn to go from tile to tile (noable exception being tile K (Rickvoid's tile) which takes consideably longer- most of a turn). There is a lot of stuff in each tile, but if two characters share a tile, they will probably find each other.

I'm going to modify the first posts now.

Jacob quickly raises his pistol and carefully aims for the Peaire's head and shoots once or twice, no use to be silent now and damn, those zombies are fast. The man clearly meant that he was infected and would turn shortly, thus the kill. As the deed is done, Jacob walks to the now dead man and grabs his axe. Lifting the axe up, Jacob cuts the mans head off and does the same to the dead zombies on the hallway. As this is done, Jacob gets back into the room grabbing the pistol (put in bag) and any other intresting stuff from the man while dropping the axe. While shivering a little, Jacob takes his leave from the hotel while keeping an eye out for zombies and heads for the mall. Like hell he would spend a night in this bloody place.

Main goal: Kill the poor man and keep sure that he and the others zombies stay dead. Then loot a little and head for the mall.

How to do this: Killing: LET'S DO THIS!
Leaving the hotel: Carefully but fast.

Zako conversation with NPC

Zak surveyed his new companion. George was old, but still physically fit. He looked capable enough. George eventually asked, “Well, it looks like I’m not the only one left. That’s good. Do you have any running water?”
“Let’s check, I hope so. I don’t have all that much bottled stuff.”
The two moved the stair barricade and walked downstairs. Zak pulled out a couple of glasses from the cupboard (mounted in the wall, he hadn’t been able to move it) and went to the sink. The water flows, but only sporadically. The two both take long gulps. George says, “Well, the way I see it, we got three problems. First is bullets, you’ve only got fifteen shells left in that rifle of yours. You might be accurate if there’s one badie, straight down, but what if there’s more? Accuracy would go down fast. Second is food. You don’t have very much here, one and a half days worth if we split it, right? I bet we’re both hungry right now. Shall we split my orange?”
The two eat the fruit, Zak no longer has a knowing pain in his stomach. George continues, “Finally, we need supplies if we are going to stay here. I doubt that there is all that much stuff left to add to the windows right? You done good, but we nee more wood and nails.
“My house doesn’t have of these things in it, I’m retired, doncha you know. We could search the nearby houses, but I don’t like leaving cover. You could also check the phone book. (The phone book has the two earlier maps in it.) We would also run into the problem of getting any supplies inside, you can’t carry much plywood up a ladder. I don’t like the idea of attaching it from the outside, it’s too exposed. That’s all that I can think of, in at any rate. What do you want to do?”

Just wondering, but how many of you just read all of the spoilers anyway? Just wondering. (I know that I did during one and two, but I can't close them on my phone anyway).

Gotta say, I'm rather impressed with how you're doing this so far. I definitely don't have that kind of patience.

Anyway gotta give some props to my companions. I actually hadn't thought to give her a weapon (deliberately, people who don't know what they're doing with guns are more of a danger to themselves and companions than enemies.) but a melee weapon should give her a feeling of security and a good reason for her to stay back and out of the way. If we find another gun at some point, and we have so free time, I may try to give her some instruction. Until then, it's nail-bat for her.

I'm not going to have them search the nearby houses now. We've pushed our luck her enough as it is, and with all the noise around here (her screaming, my shooting) any undead around are likely headed this way. We need to get moving.

I'll think about it for a bit, check the map, and then I'll post my turn. I've gotta work in a couple hours though, so it may not go up until sunday. Sorry.

"You're right, this place isn't safe..." I say. "We need to move to a safer place. One that is more easily defendable and can hold more supplies."

A look of enlightenment comes over my face. "Its time to go to school!"

We pack up as much as we can, between me and george, sharing the load. I give george the rifle and bullets and whatever he can carry with it. I take the ladder, if I can, the radio, my crowbar and whatever George can't carry in my backpack and leave by the front door. As I go to the same highschool as Dmitri is at (He is one of my teachers), we check the houses as we pass them for suitable bags and clothing for George. Any weapons that we find (an axe if we can) George carries. We try to get any transport if possible and try not to attract any zombies.

As a special one offer, I am more or less giving you two turns for turn three. Most of the turns have been about four hours each, yours have been oneish. If you'd like, you can walk one tile north (into the city proper) and still have a turn.

I spend a little time trying to detach the trailer to see if that could be used to carry my stuff quietly, but if it can't, I try to move all the stuff to the school by hand.  If I still have some time left over, I work on the barricades.
