Question on religion
« on: September 05, 2008, 10:39:25 am »

What makes a difference to how faithful a follower someone is?

To date, most of my adventurers are at best Casual worshipers when I check them out in the legends screen.

I don't think it's how often you talk to the deity... I've been making a point of praying before and after battle, and when entering spooky looking places.
I'll add "at bedtime and in the morning" to the list, too.

Perhaps it's how many temples to that deity you are a member of?
Or maybe how long you are a worshiper for, in years?
Or maybe it just depends on your characters disposition?

I'm just off on a religious pilgrimage, so we'll see what happens.
Worshiping the god of revenge makes taking quests a matter of spiritual reward, rather than just empty congratulation from the mayor.

'tis fun.

I had a civ that worshiped Luth, goddess of war and chaos.  I made a point of marching every adventurer in that world over to one of her temples just for the hell of it.
