Take little Timmy, take any of them... but not that...

What did you do to get kidnappers making off with grizzly bears?

Honestly, I've NO idea. Quite an old screencapture possibly back when I didn't mod the hell out of the game too. Maybe there were no children around.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

@Footkerchief
Yea, I found that out yesterday, along with the fact goblins impale the dead bodies of adventurers once they're dead, which is badass.

If you gen a world and turn off the requirement for playable civs with no surviving civs but goblins, it lets you play as a goblin adventurer.

Also, if elf retreats destroyed in worldgen and there are still some remaining, upon entering adventure mode, they will instantly repopulate with elves driven out from it because they are immortal and form migrant groups that are never attacked.

Maybe there's a child in the bear's stomach?
Maybe he mistook the bear for a hairy dwarf child...

Damn rookies!

I didn't know cats could be merchants?

I didn't know cats could carry all those goods!

From a while ago, but still pretty funny.  :-D

Was the cat actually carrying goods, or was it in a cage?

Only vaguely. Made of the same substance and put to the same use, but a bit like comparing a castle and a doublewide trailer.

Knowing DF, the cat was probably a pack-cat, carrying six bins of cloth, two steel anvils, and a caged elephant.

I have no idea, I never checked.  I just thought it was a bug.

You probably accidentally modded in pack-cats.

Or maybe one of the merchants had a pet cat.

That's the bug that occurred to me when I learned about the deconstruct trade depot 'problem'. The left-over animals the elves had brought to trade were all labelled as "Merchant", until about a season afterwards (I think it actually changed on the change of seasons, like healing limbs and such).

Yea, it has something to do with the merchants still 'owning' the animals since you didn't actually buy them. After the last merchant packanimal leaves the map (occasionally a guard or two sticks around for a while, but this doesn't affect this), the animals the merchant had for sale immedeately transfer over to you.

I just genned a world for Adventuring and was looking through the 303 year history.

Found a Human settlement that was attacked by the Undead and destroyed. Later it was rebuilt so the Undead came back to destroy it again...and again...and again.

In 303 it had just been destroyed for the 21st time.

Those Humans are either very stubborn or very stupid.

Wait, was this in vanilla DF or are you playing with a mod that adds an Undead race+civ?
