That has always been a really nice feature. I wonder how it will get expanded on in the future for some of the more esoteric spheres.

I know, I was surprised I thought they only had water pools in them.

I wonder what temples we'd get if we modded the human civ religion?

Wait wait wait.

This temple thing, is it now or in a future release?

Because it would be really cool if there was one for every sphere.

Temple filled with food? Slaves? Dead people?

Eh, just the normal, probably.  Although I don't think it's possible for the humans to select one of those gods.  I thought that only goblins picked those.

I spotted a human god in the legends who represented depravity and lust (I think that was the second one) and took the form of a male human. I bet that one is actually a tentacle demon in disguise.

I just found a temple of Hospitality and Order. It has lots of engravings, no pool, and apparently no priests.
The temple goes underground about 5 z-levels, and there is a merchant and his mule idling in the bottom floor.

I found a temple of generosity and sacrifice. It has unengraved walls, two stories, and no pool.
It's oddly ungenerous in it's decorations.

I wonder if other factors affect temples a well, such as the age of the temple or the surroundings.  It would be cool to see a temple affected by the wealth of its patrons.

In the "Funny Names" thread, there's somewhere buried a temple to a god of disease which... well, here's the result:

"It is said that drinking from the pool of stagnant water in the Temple of Mold allows one to experience disease."

EDIT:  Here we are:

The temple of mold. They say that the pool of stagnant water in the temple of mold allows one to experience disease.(WTF!!!) Praise blight! I say once again, go with disease!

Funny how they were the last humans alive in the world, down to one + town. The human race must've died out worshipping blight and exposing themselves to disease. har har.

I'm talking about the bronze colossus. It's supposed to be made entirely of bronze.
But really he's just a softie inside. They all are really. When megabeasts come to your fort you never welcome them inside and give them a hug, do you. You heartless bastards...

How on earth do you guys find temples? I can't for the life of me work out how to locate the damn things, or work out what gods they're dedicated to.

"T"s in human towns.

There are usually one in each civ, so they're decently rare.

Gobbos have them too.

It's easy in adventure mode, as long as you can refrain from murdering everyone you meet.

In fort mode, just find a human settlement and plunk your embark site down where their temple is.

Oh i know i can find a temple in fort mode by plunking down on a settlement, i'm trying to work out how to locate a temple before i embark, like say one dedicated to a fire god so i have a chance of getting it full of magmarr!
