Greetings!

Well, that is a very interesting challenge. Especially if you forbid any mining for the fortress.

However, rose gold, while actually quite nice in color, is the easy version of the challenge - you can order it directly from both humans and dwarves, you can order its components from both humans and dwarves, AND you can get the necessary ores from the dwarves - so if you get 4 of each item you request by a caravan, you could get quite a lot of rose gold/rose gold material from the merchants per year (20 units, I think) ...

If you select a specific stone block, you are down to only the dwarves for the blocks or the stones, so you have 8 units per year. And for the masochists, you could actually say "imported stone blocks only" - 4 units per year until your liaison dies (^_^;;

Mmmmhhhh, on the other hand, spooking the microcline haters with a map completely covered with microcline blocks does have a certain appeal :) :) :) :) :)

You're forgetting how hard it is to pave the entire 6X6 zone.

i for one, do not want a pink fortress. id prefer green but there is no green metal.

bonus points for making all your dwarves archers for the green color

You could always go for a Serpentine fortress. That'd be a pretty good challenge, since it's so rare you'd have to import most of it. And it's a nice dark green.

For a variation on the Rose Gold challenge you could do Black Bronze, which is a dark purple. Or..lay pewter? One of those, at least, is a dark cyan which is pretty nice. For any of the metal challenges the big issue is getting enough of it to actually cover everything. It may be doable, but it's very expensive and time consuming unless you happen to have all the metals you need on-site. Even then you'd likely only have a fraction of what's required to cover the whole surface.

does it have to be a metal? if not, use green glass. quick, cheap, green and available in infinite amounts!

at least using glass, you could get it done in the lifetime of all your dwarves, and finish just in time to see your great grandson's wedding. and then fall down dead.

Why not mine out the inside of a mountain and fill it with green glass. Or metal, whatever floats your boat.

what if we hollowed out a mountian, filled it with magma with 100 pipes, made hatches at the top, then released all the preusser making a volcanoe that flings lava everywhere
