Yeah.  Check the temperature while standing near magma.

Throwing weapons works just as well as hitting people with them. I found this out by throwing a halberd at an elf. The result was that I slashed out both his eyes and his throat.

I mean, wow. That is hardcore.

Yeah, throwing has to be the best feature of adventure mode!
You can start out with 15 points in throwing and run into an elf village killing them with sand, their own clothing, and elf child corpses.

That's a waste, and you're better off taking points in armor or shield usage, because leveling up throwing is laughably easy. You could probably make a macro for that, though I've never tried, and probably have it done in like 15 minutes while you're making dinner or something.

Another thing I noticed in Adventure mode but it seems that elf civilizations are not friends with Unicorns. I started as a Minotaur in one of the towns and a couple of moments after I arrived, some Unicorns were fucking the entire grove of elves up. I can honestly say that the only survivors were a couple of children that had escaped.

 Those critters are deadly.

They have foot long spears where their foreheads should be. They couldn't be anything less.

I said that you can, not that you should.

It may be a waste if you intend to keep the character, yes, but if you want to just make a quick, fun character, you can just give him 15 throwing.

With a good thrower to start with, you can kill quite a few elf children before being overwhelmed.

What was that about quote blocks?

Its more fun to just get 15 wrestling.
Just sneak up to everyone and gouge their eyes out and run off.

15 ambusher, then train up your throwing skill on an elf village.

Ambushing should be even easier to train up via macros than throwing.

If you want to use things like macros you might aswell use cheat engine.

If you want to use things like macros you might aswell use cheat engine.

1. With macros you at least have to do some work, i.e. set the macros up and leave DF running in the background until your leveling is done.
2. Regardless, I have little problem with using cheats or macros to exploit a leveling system that doesn't have much to do with player skill, and is all about repetition (I'm not gonna say grinding, because at least in DF you're done in a couple of hours, whereas you'd probably spend months leveling your characters in some RPGs if you didn't sploit).

Macros are ok as long as you don't lie and say you don't use them.  Blood floats when it's on ice and the ice melts.  It's more of a bug but I thought I should contribute.
