Is it possible for more than one thing to have the same (creature type) name, or will that break the system?

Can you explain your question in details?
If you meant CREATURE token it should be unique. If you meant NAME token you can have them to be similar.

The [CREATURE] must be unique, but the name tokens can be whatever you want even if they're used elsewhere as creatures, stone, etc.

The Plate Mail latches on to your arm!
