Sorry about that, I got distracted by Mount & Blade: Warband. Such an awesome game for only £7.99.

So, I shall detain the Clanner, using various locks that I (hopefully) know from the Capoeira MA. If not, it'll basically involve grabbing his arms in my iron grip and forcing him face down to the ground. Then we can interrogate him.

Finally coming out of Lurkerdom for the last 2 years, scary I know.

I've been watching this thread since the tenth turn (My friend sent me a link to it a looooong time ago), and I have to congratulate Sean for being dedicated to this project. If it weren't for this RtD, I would've never have been inspired to research them and create my own for my group of online friends. It's always fun to check once a week to see what's going on in this crazy adventure here, and see all the neat drawings and changes in the system that Sean has made over the span of the RtD.

I've learned it definitely takes a lot of time and effort to run one of these things and keep the level of quality high enough to please everyone, so even more props to Sean for that. I hope this RtD continues and prospers as it has, and best of luck to Sean's poor guinea pigs in this game XD. May there be more elf-burning, keep defending, zombie smashing, nuke dodging, mech fighting goodness from this thread!

Just came across this thread early last week and have finally caught up.

Damn ... now I'll have to wait to see what you bunch of misfits get up to!

Thanks to Sean (and players) for this ☼thread☼.

Sorry, no turn yet. Same story, too many problems to focus. I did get your rolls though. My primary D6 hates your guts, people. I think I'll switch to random.org. The roll spread for the turn is 1111222223445, for the players. The NPCs have a single 4, the enemies got a 2, a 3, and two 4s. Nice, ain't it?

I got more awful stuff today, so not sure if I'll get to the turn. I think I'll skip the illustrations, too, except maybe the one highlight of the turn.

This seems roughly normal, really.
Although I would check that a spot hasn't rubbed off again :P

Also:
maybe we should wait to be safe again
Has that ever actually happened, short of being in the cube? Them being safe, that is?

Hm. Well, maybe right at the beginning of the first world, before Kashyyk turned into a golem. They weren't in any real danger up until that point. After that, I don't think there was a single safe spot, yeah. Mostly due to them having abilities that'd rip them to shreds if sufficiently misused.

I'm the end of safety! Yay! ^.^

immaturity aside, That is probably true. I quite like how I'm almost invulnerable. I think being the center of a small antimatter explosion might do the trick though. So long as the headband survives at any rate.

All that's needed is crushing or otherwise destroying your head - specifically, the part where your brain would be located. So, all that's needed to kill you is a good headshot with an anti-materiel rifle.

Mmkay, turn done, but I have that sneaky feeling I forgot something.

----------------
Wayside V, temporary camp some distance north of Andrea's Furnace

"Hey there mister Iron Man! I need your help for a sec!"

Frelock, deciding to interrogate the clanner, enlists Kashyyk's assistance in holding him tight while he focuses for the mental link. Finally deciding to move his steel behind, Kashyyk obliges, stooping down to the prone clanner and lifting him off the ground. Since he doesn't know of any better technique, he just embraces the clanner with his arms, effectively locking him inbetween a pair of steel girders.

"Alright Frelock, he's secure. You can start whenever."
   "Good, hold 'im tight."

Minutes pass in silence as Frelock concentrates his thoughts. Rooster takes off to practice, and Neo indifferently watches him, attempting to concentrate his own mind. Consumed by this effort, he almost misses a sign of trouble.

"Hey, watch it! I just saw that nei'kari move."
"Don't worry, I've got him. I'm a steel statue, what can he do?"

The answer came seconds later. Suddenly coming to his senses, the clanner pilot displays unbelievable agility, expertly wriggling out of Kashyyk's steel grasp! Neo reacted, jumping out of the way, but the clanner quickly whirled around, unbelievably knocking Kashyyk off his feet, and straight at him! It took Frelock a few seconds to properly understand what happened, and it was enough for the pilot to spin around once more, driving his heel into Frelock's ribcage. There was a sickening CRUNCH as half his ribs broke apart, pieces jamming into his liver and right lung. The brittle obsidian skin cracks and shatters, releasing sprays of bright red blood that quickly coat Frelock's white robe as he tumbles backward, knocked off his feet and a good meter and a half away from where he stood. He is stunned by the terrible pain, but keeps his consciousness with sheer force of will. With most of his enemies out of commision, the clanner pauses, deciding whether or not to take the chance and run before any others come to their aid.

In the meantime, Jay Kayell gets accustomed to his new armor. Moving in it feels rather natural, it follows his every move with great precision. The lack of a good grasping device proves to be a hindrance when he tries to loot the equipment off Simon's dead body, but with some practice he is able to use the battle claw to stuff most of Simon's gear into his backpack, and lift it all onto the armor's shoulder. LASD approaches him, having abandoned his attemtps at studying the reactor, and offers to examine the powersuit for any systems that may become useful. Jay agrees. LASD proceeds with the inspection, pointing out the auto-sealing and auto-bloodstopping HARJEL system of the armor, as well as the missile rack release mechanism and the pylon for installing small anti-personnel weapons on the armor's left arm. There's no way Jay would be able to install something there without taking off parts of the armor first though, since the right arm is just one big gun and can't operate anything. The armor is powered by high-yield power cells, which should last some time before needing replacement, but they don't suffer the same overheating problems as the big reactors of the 'mechs. There's also a targetting system for the installed weapons, but it seems Jay's internal targetting ability outperforms the armor's, rendering it useless. It does, however, provide what limited sensor data the armor's equipment can gather, as well as 360-degree vision, providing an edge against opponents trying to blindside it.

Left to himself, Boksi starts to wonder about the origins of the empty feeling that's been bothering him ever since the big nasty flaming eye showed up. Putting two and two together, he realises that the eye is linked to the feeling, and deduces that it's probably the manifestation of the demon spirit locked away in his ring. This is bad news - as long as the demon eye exists, a part of the ring's power is drawn to keep it in this world. Which means that it's still somewhere nearby, seeking to kill Boksi, the ring's owner, and set the demon spirit free. Boksi shudders at the thought. The eye proved to be nigh indestructible when it last appeared, but the only way to remove the negative effect it has on Boksi's abilities would be... to somehow kill it.
------------
Background:   Qwer'Ty spent some time examining the Fusion Engine, hoping to succeed where LASD failed. But, despite expending significant effort, he is unable to get any significant insights. The thick shielding of the engine disallows access to any of its internal components, and what few external access points exist don't net Qwer'Ty any useful info. From markings on the various manufacturer plates, he is able to discern that the engine operates on Protium, the «light» isotope of hydrogen, and that it's actually very easy to shut the thing down if it's ever required.

Despite swooping down to help Frelock and the others, Rooster still catches a glimpse of a small dustcloud far to the north. He doesn't have time to get any sort of estimate on what it is and when it'll be here if it's something that approaches.

I brought back JK's jumpjets, and uncovered what systems LASD was capable of finding. JK is now a logistical nightmare - he essentially wears a medieval armor suit, a modern armor jacket, and a futuristic power armor, topping it all off with two backpacks hanging off the same shoulder. The armor will never fit him quite right, being made for a person much larger than him. I researched the power armor details btw, and realised I had to tone it down a little. For example, it has drug injection systems. It's also supposed to require a special neuro-mesh suit. It still has some of the other functions, but you'll have to find those.
Oh, and it's modular, like a medieval knight's. Full circle, if you wish. The parts are the chestpiece, the helmet, the "greaves" with lower torso, the "boots" which are actually rigid hoof-like things, and the two arms. Plus missile rack. So, you can take it off part by part if you need.

Try it and find out. But really, fusion reactors don't easily explode, and even then it's not really a nuclear explosion. The eye ain't a simple nut to crack either.
