Hear, hear, the turn is hear!

Turn 126 ------------
I take the plate cuirass and put it on under my jacket, thanking the dwarf while doing it. I then try to activate night vision on my headband by force of thought. If I fail I bring the dwarf with me to the truck.
| You take the plate cuirass. It fits nicely onto you, but wearing the armor jacket over it feels kinda awkward. Still, you put them both on this way and thank the dwarf, who is rather pleased with himself. You then try to activate some form of light amplification system for your eyes, but your headache disrupts your thinking, and you can't get anything out of the headband. Sighing regretfully, you walk to the truck with the dwarf in tow.
I walk fast but gently to the group
| Your mech is equipped with light amplification cameras, numerous sensor arrays and a navigation system with terrain awareness, but all of its powers combined couldn't prevent you from getting lost in the valley. After striding amidst the rocky plains for some time, you realise you're not going where you need to go and stop.
Ok, I repair the truck, cannibalizing the wreckage of the fighter to do so.
| You run off to the crash site. Upon arriving, you see the area around the crater engulfed in flames, and a number of people frantically attempting to put out the fires. A lot of people seem to be burning, screams and cries for help fill the thin air. The several light mechs are showering nearby hills laser and autocannon fire.
i charge my staff a bit more, then i repair the truck that LASD damaged.
| You strike the ground with the staff a few times, summoning lightning strokes that are absorbed into it.
| Content with its charge for now, you walk to the truck, hoping to repair the broken wheel. Using your augmented arm, you lift the truck and put the wheel back onto the axle. The bolts that used to fix the wheel are broken, so you activate a plasma jet in your right hand, and permanently weld the wheel into place. After checking that the wheel does indeed rotate, and you haven't welded the axle to the suspension, you release the truck and admire the fruits of your labor. You feel more competent with repairing things now.
I continue to gain strenght to be able to smash rocks with bare hands, probably by getting an adrenaline rush when I want it or something.
| You keep training your strength, but don't improve much. Lifting rocks is too easy with your powerful arms, you really need something more… challenging.
"I mount the tazer on my halberd, because electricity resistance is much rarer than fire or cold resistance!
"
| You try to tack your tazer onto the halberd, but realise you don't have anything sturdy enough to fasten it. Mounting it onto the halberd's blade is impossible, because the fire would quickly destroy the device, and you wouldn't be able to easily use it if it was attached to the haft. Besides, it's gun-shaped, and not very suitable to being attached to anything.
I try to wake up and take the cuirass from a dwarf. It's less badass than dwarf bone armor, but perhaps somewhat better.
| Heavy rain falls upon the jungle. Black clouds obscure the stars in the night sky, and only the moon can briefly be seen through cracks in the darkness. You wade through the thick plantlife, stumbling on lianas and crooked roots of high trees, hoping that this nightmare will someday reach its end.
I warn everyone near me about the oncoming danger via TP. Then, fire up a TK field about me, all while in a trance (they're mental actions, after all). Optimally, I should learn how to become super-powerful whilst in a trance.
| You focus your mind and send out telepathic signals to everyone around you, warning them about the danger. Only a few are calm enough to hear your calls though, and you don't even know if they are anywhere near the people who are in danger. You feel the thoughts of the unknown enemy again, you can almost see him aiming a weapon at the crowd in the crater, but are powerless to stop him.
| In an attempt to protect at least yourself, you invoke your memory of the telekinetic field and activate it. You feel the TK field surround you, and feel safe.
I undergo intense training of my air manipulation! INTENSE!
| You try to conjure up a massive tornado to test your powers. Wind rages around you, lifting a large amount of clay into the air! Suddenly you are hit with a small rock. You shrug it off and keep the power up, but soon you are hit with another. And another. Finally a large flat rock hits you in the face, throwing you to the ground. The tornado dissipates. You rub your bruised face and get up. Centering a tornado on yourself probably wasn't a good idea after all.
I do squats to train my strength.
| You get off the truck, take two large stones for weight, and start doing squats.
| The second time you squat, you hear a faint crack in your back, followed by a surge of pain. You drop the stones and fall to the ground.
| Despite the pain, you manage to concentrate and apply some TK to push the offset vertebrae back into place. With another faint crackle, the pain disappears. You lie on the ground, resting after the ordeal.
<Travel mode: Clan Smoke Jaguar base>
| You trudge through the cold rocky wasteland, almost losing your sense of direction in the darkness. The mountainous borders of the valley provide barely sufficient landmarks to check against, but you keep going.
(RTTAI:{3}) I practice mechanics by carefully studying an unimportant part of the truck.
| You scrupulously study the truck's broken radio. While it's a very interesting device, it gives you no technical insights whatsoever.
------------
NPC Actions:
Allied: The dwarf decides to run along with Neo.
| Amazingly, he is able to keep up with the Pantherian's speed, and arrives at the crash site only a few minutes after Neo. He looks around the field excitedly, probably thinking of finding something to "acquisition".
The bats stay where they are and do nothing.
Neutral: You can see nothing of the camp. At the crash site, Kashyyk could see all remaining soldiers gather at the crater before he left, maybe looking for the cause of the previous collapse.
| …
Enemy: …
| Though none of you are there to see it, a pair of fast-moving objects fly from the top of a nearby hill, leaving white smoke trails in the air, and burst into a rain of flame above the crowd of soldiers.
| A few of them notice the danger in time and alert the others. The soldiers try to scatter, but at least four were completely engulfed in searing flames, and soon lay motionless on the ground. At least a dozen are heavily burned. The light mechs of the convoy let their guns loose on the hill from where the shot came, but whether or not any shots hit their mark is unknown.
------------
Background: [2+2] You don't see anything interesting. Boksi asks chaoticag to see how his gun operates - after a bit of looking, chaoticag tells him it accelerates vanadium-tipped 2mm projectiles to supersonic velocities using electromagnetic coils located along the launch canal, drawing power from clip-mounted accumulator batteries. Whatever that means.

Artifacts: "A massive, massive, MASSIVE sword. It is three meters long, 1'3'' (~40cm) wide, and dazzingly bright. Its fine steel has been polished to reflect light like a mirror. Its one edge is curved, jagged at the hilt, the other is straight and so sharp it could probably slice adamantine blocks like salami. Down the center of the sword, which is at least 2'' thick, runs a hollow slit 3'' wide, in which yeat another, smaller and straighter sword is concealed. The entire surface of both swords, except of course the sharp cutting edges, is finely engraved with uncountable images, among which the launching of the Challenger, world war II, a nuclear explosion, a trainwreck, and a rotary excavator. The hilt itself (being at the same time the hilt of the smaller sword) is decorated with gold and emeralds you can only assume you've taken from someone, arranged in beautiful patterns, and the handle is woven with three lines - one is a scaly snake with two small rubies in the eyes, and two seem awfully like DNA strands. You get a feeling you could decipher the human genome if you looked closely enough. The guard of the hilt is exquisitely detailed as well, but right down the senter of it, spanning the breadth of the sword, is a solid rectangular golden plate, with the single word: ""ASHCRAVER"" deeply embossed onto it. The entire thing is so immeasurably brilliant, you almost don't want to touch it fearing it'll stick to your hand and corrupt you like some magic ring. Overcoming this fear, you pick it up. Despite its size, it is relatively lightweight, relatively, of course, to anything else so large and made of steel. (+2 to damage, +1 to attack, -1 agility)
The second form is a smaller (comparatively) blade, that together with the folding hilt guard looks like an overgrown sai. It's also exquisitely detailed, but lighter. (+1 to damage).
The Ashcraver seems to accumulate the energy released by the deaths it causes. The process is admittedly rather slow, but has good uses."
"The ring consists of a toroidal adamantine core surrounded by a shell of tempered steel with thin bands of gold along the rims of the ring. Set into an adamantine frame on its top is a Star Sapphire imbued with the dark soul of a Greater Demon, under absolute control of the wearer. The steel surface of the ring is covered by three hundred tiny tiles of granite, engraved with images of various creatures, all being dead.
The wearer of the ring may call onto the soul of the demon, which can manipulate darkness and fire - anything from direct projection to creating sentient forms to giving protection against.
The wearer can also give an order to summon a creature mad with rage (any creature from the DF world you have seen), which will use up one or several of the stone tiles, depending on the power of the creature. The tiles may be restored, but only through personally killing sentient creatures with bare hands and absorbing their essence with the ring, which also adds that creature to the ""summonable creatures"" list.
The price to pay for all this power is a constant aura of darkness that any living being will feel (and will react accordingly), and the wearer may, under critical stress, give in and become controlled by the trapped demon soul.
(No passive bonuses. In a single turn, you can either perform an act of darkness/fire manipulation (including creating a prolonged effect), or summon a creature/creatures, but not both. The magnitude and potential of both depend on your skill - the ring grants ""basic level"" only. You can only absorb the essence of a creature you killed with your own bare hands, and only if it died last turn, at most.)
Currently applied effects: (-1 to relevant ability for every active effect)
Darkfire halberd - haft of materialized darkness.
Shadow Warp - Boksi's shadow invisibility."

Locations:
Planet Wayside V: The planet seems to be barren as a whole. The sky is green here, and the air is cold. Or maybe it's just autumn here.
Large Valley: A rather dull and barren, though very large, rocky valley covered by reddish clay soil with patches of some unknown weeds or moss. Filled with broken rock and debris. Sloping mountains or plateaus many kilometers tall seem to surround it.
Sub-area 1: The place you initially appeared at.
Sub-area 2: Where your truck was destroyed by an aerospace fighter (and later rebuilt). Mostly everyone is here.
Sub-area 3: Somewhere far north of Area 2 - the fighter crashlanded there. And subsequently exploded, leaving a large crater and killing the crew of the two scout buggies sent by Fusiliers. Frelock, Neo, and the dwarf are here, as well as a convoy of trucks, light mechs, and infantry - now in disarray and on fire.
Fusiliers' main camp: A small military camp set up amidst the hills in the large valley. Mechs patrol its perimeter. All of you are at a spot some distace away from it.
"Overlord"-class Dropship "Bullrun": A big egglike spaceship designed to go to and from a planet's surface. Armed with several turrets and protected by thick armor. It's been attacked on its descent and is undergoing repairs.
