This game of Multiworld Madness has grown too large for me to handle. What would you have me do?

Muster up remaining strength and complete the current chapter. Bring the game to a logical close, then reboot it.

Same as 1, but a whole new game will be started instead, still Multiworld, but no longer Madness.
- 9 (10.5%)
Get just this last turn done and reboot the game. No point wasting energy if updating takes so long.

Get the last turn done and start a new game project.

I meant more along the lines of "what setting this is", rather than "do you like it or not".

I think with the amount of details you've given us, anyone familiar with what the setting is would get it by now.

Edit: Googling any of the clues you've given us doesn't help either. Anything mentioning Bullrun gets only stuff about the american civil war. Even if I tell it to not give me anything with the words "american" or "civil", it still gives me american civil war stuff. Searching for bullrun with "egg ship" or "mech" or "sword shield flag" or "sci fi" just ignores everything but "bullrun" and gives me american civil war results.

Then maybe someone can guess the source material?

Evidently I'm not as well read in the sci-fi genre as I'd like to think.

Sorry about getting everyone stuck, but I've got to get to the egg.  Duty Calls!  Normal TK field, activate!

I should probably practice my medium-sized TK field sometime in the near future...

If nobody guesses it, when will you tell us? Will we have to wait until they beat the world?

If things go smoothly, you'll eventually collect enough information to guess right. If you do a google search using just one piece of information I gave you, you can already find the source. But, you won't be able to read it online - I tried to find a copy of these novels online, but all I can find are russian retranslations.

Quote from: Sean Mirrsen
Kashyyk caught a glimpse of the flag near the main tent, featuring an insignia - a red/blue checkquered shield with a sword down its center.

Northwind Highlanders. Mind you, I know nothing about them, but I recognised the description. It could still be something completely different though, and I'll never know until Sean spills the beans.

I'm not sure I should really disclose too much stuff, like the actual storyline there. This, as any self-respecting sci-fi-knowing person should have already gathered, is a Battletech universe. And you are in a specific event from the canon, as far as I can tell. As you probably know, there are a series of novels, by various authors, set in this universe. You're somewhere near the beginning of the action part of one of those.

The flag really was of the Northwind Highlanders, but actually it should have been something else. I never found the insignia of the specific unit that is supposed to be here. I actually found the insignia of the unit that was supposed to be here, but since it's rather small (usually), you'll need to come close to see it.

The ovoid ship is, of course, a Dropship, though the class is one of the things I won't tell you (does it even matter?). I don't know half the names of the mechs that are supposed to be here, but the book gives a vague idea, so I'll be able to point out the most prominent ones.

Here's the Battletech wiki if anyone wants to search for something. Their Planets category has to have a thousand planets in it and has no sub-categories whatsoever, so good luck with that.

Edit: Make that something like 2500 planets.

Try Peter F. Hamilton, he's a good writer, first notable book is The Reality Dysfunction from 1996. It's also really long, which is why it's so good. It's incredibly complex, moderately hard and the first in a trilogy. Although apparently, it's been split into four volumes in Italy. Apparently the Italian masses are intimidated by large books.
