| You try as hard as you can to sense Frelock's presence and open your mind to him, but you get a feeling your struggles make no difference to him.
OK, I'm back on the quest for truck-mode then.
| Remembering the success of the Ashcraver's acquisition, you start assuming various "action" poses and shouting various nonsense at the top of your voice - "POWER EXXTREME!!!"… "OVERDRIVE ACCELERATE!!!"… "KORORA TRANSFORM!!!" As you shout the last phrase, you feel your body suddenly begin to move on its own! Your legs fold in on themselves, arms also fold and meld themselves into the upper body, the upper body itself turns 180 degrees, your head sinks into it, allowing your chestpiece to rise upward, obscuring your vision. After a few seconds of this, you regain your vision, and notice several changes. First, you are noticeably shorter than you were. Second, you don't seem to have arms, legs, or even a head, yet somehow you manage to see and hear everything around you. There's no mirror to tell you about it, but you have that distinct "I think I'm a sofa" feeling, except in your case it's a pickup truck. You try to move, but, naturally, you are quite confused, since you no longer have controllable limbs. You also wonder about the whereabouts of your sword.
I take another look at the van.

| Wandering through your mind, you happen upon a door. No, not a door. A massive steel gate towering above you, deeply engraved with symbols you never saw in your life, yet somehow you understand them. They roughly translate to "Critical danger. Never open under any circumstances. No, not even then.". Intrigued by the mysterious gate, you start moving the massive reinforced wooden beams that hold the door closed.
| You suddenly realize that being unconscious, you have no control over the spirit of the demon, and it would easily overpower you and take over. You hastily shove the beams back into their place and leave the door alone.
I identify my own mind out of the streams of consciousness that are flowing through my brain, making the others not affect my own mental state (though letting mine affect theirs, of course).
| After a minute of intense focusing, you manage to clear up your mind, shoving the multitude of mental streams into the background. It was hard, and that was only for the ten people around you. But at least their presence will not disrupt your thought anymore. (The players and the dwarf no longer count toward the penalties you receive)

Looking at chaoticag, however, reveals the nature of his power - his sweat glands produce tiny quantities of concentrated viral substance that will be injected through the spores of the skin, should you touch it. You realise that even being close to chaoticag is rather dangerous, and back off.

Tiny white dots start racing past your field of vision, more and more of them until suddenly a massive wave of this fuzzy light blasts through you like a barrage of bullets, torturing your mind for a tiny fraction of a second before you are released and fall to your knees onto the rug. You feel cold.

chaoticag:{6} Chaoticag tries to collect information about the world you are entering by opening his mind during the shift. He sees a stream of images, a barren world of little importance, a massive armored force prepared to strike, a small group of hired guns fighting for their lives in the narrow ravines, and a massive tour de force, a battle of epic proportions between mortal enemies, set up by the hired guns as their only chance of survival. Then he passes out. He was the only one to be contacting the van, but he brought it along.

The closest member just happens to be andrea, who withstands the onslaught, barely. The dwarf comes out slightly sizzled, his beard is smoking, but at least he pulled through with all of you.
When you appear on the other side, you cannot find any other word for your surroundings except "barren". Or maybe "dull". Red clay-ish ground stretching as far as you can see, covered by patches of weed or moss. Masses of bluish-black dark clouds covering the pale green sky. The air is cold, but at least there isn't much wind. The mountain your starting point is embedded into is very high, probably kilometers, and stretches like a massive wall off into the distance, though its slope varies and isn't as steep as where you are standing. It's quiet here.

Artifacts: "A massive, massive, MASSIVE sword. It is three meters long, 1'3'' (~40cm) wide, and dazzingly bright. Its fine steel has been polished to reflect light like a mirror. Its one edge is curved, jagged at the hilt, the other is straight and so sharp it could probably slice adamantine blocks like salami. Down the center of the sword, which is at least 2'' thick, runs a hollow slit 3'' wide, in which yeat another, smaller and straighter sword is concealed. The entire surface of both swords, except of course the sharp cutting edges, is finely engraved with uncountable images, among which the launching of the Challenger, world war II, a nuclear explosion, a trainwreck, and a rotary excavator. The hilt itself (being at the same time the hilt of the smaller sword) is decorated with gold and emeralds you can only assume you've taken from someone, arranged in beautiful patterns, and the handle is woven with three lines - one is a scaly snake with two small rubies in the eyes, and two seem awfully like DNA strands. You get a feeling you could decipher the human genome if you looked closely enough. The guard of the hilt is exquisitely detailed as well, but right down the senter of it, spanning the breadth of the sword, is a solid rectangular golden plate, with the single word: ""ASHCRAVER"" deeply embossed onto it. The entire thing is so immeasurably brilliant, you almost don't want to touch it fearing it'll stick to your hand and corrupt you like some magic ring. Overcoming this fear, you pick it up. Despite its size, it is relatively lightweight, relatively, of course, to anything else so large and made of steel. (+2 to damage, +1 to attack, -1 agility)
The second form is a smaller (comparatively) blade, that together with the folding hilt guard looks like an overgrown sai. It's also exquisitely detailed, but lighter. (+1 to damage).
The Ashcraver seems to accumulate the energy released by the deaths it causes. The process is admittedly rather slow, but has good uses."
"The ring consists of a toroidal adamantine core surrounded by a shell of tempered steel with thin bands of gold along the rims of the ring. Set into an adamantine frame on its top is a Star Sapphire imbued with the dark soul of a Greater Demon, under absolute control of the wearer. The steel surface of the ring is covered by three hundred tiny tiles of granite, engraved with images of various creatures, all being dead.
The wearer of the ring may call onto the soul of the demon, which can manipulate darkness and fire - anything from direct projection to creating sentient forms to giving protection against.
The wearer can also give an order to summon a creature mad with rage (any creature from the DF world you have seen), which will use up one or several of the stone tiles, depending on the power of the creature. The tiles may be restored, but only through personally killing sentient creatures with bare hands and absorbing their essence with the ring, which also adds that creature to the ""summonable creatures"" list.
The price to pay for all this power is a constant aura of darkness that any living being will feel (and will react accordingly), and the wearer may, under critical stress, give in and become controlled by the trapped demon soul.
(No passive bonuses. In a single turn, you can either perform an act of darkness/fire manipulation (including creating a prolonged effect), or summon a creature/creatures, but not both. The magnitude and potential of both depend on your skill - the ring grants ""basic level"" only. You can only absorb the essence of a creature you killed with your own bare hands, and only if it died last turn, at most.)
