| Luckily, no one is hurt, but everyone receives several extra pieces of underwear. Unabashed, you proceed with your plan, and gather several pieces of underwear. There are no ready gauntlets, but you manage to get a hold of some sturdy stockings, and use those with some strips of fabric to craft makeshift cloth gauntlets. They won't protect you, but at least they will not let you infect anyone by accidentally touching him. The underwear stockpile closes, a red light highlights the edges of the hatch.

| Examining your body and its equipment further, you learn several things. The "rooflights" can be turned on and off with but a thought. The image on your chest glows from within, even though you are fairly sure the surface under it is just metal. You finally recollect what is it that the sheath on your thigh reminds you of - the Ashcraver's lesser form was of similar shape. You faintly remember something about "calling your attacks" as well.
I practice hovering and flying using a coccon of air. None of that pillar of air crap that almsot killed me.

Artifacts: "The ring consists of a toroidal adamantine core surrounded by a shell of tempered steel with thin bands of gold along the rims of the ring. Set into an adamantine frame on its top is a Star Sapphire imbued with the dark soul of a Greater Demon, under absolute control of the wearer. The steel surface of the ring is covered by three hundred tiny tiles of granite, engraved with images of various creatures, all being dead.
The wearer of the ring may call onto the soul of the demon, which can manipulate darkness and fire - anything from direct projection to creating sentient forms to giving protection against.
The wearer can also give an order to summon a creature mad with rage (any creature from the DF world you have seen), which will use up one or several of the stone tiles, depending on the power of the creature. The tiles may be restored, but only through personally killing sentient creatures with bare hands and absorbing their essence with the ring, which also adds that creature to the ""summonable creatures"" list.
The price to pay for all this power is a constant aura of darkness that any living being will feel (and will react accordingly), and the wearer may, under critical stress, give in and become controlled by the trapped demon soul.
(No passive bonuses. In a single turn, you can either perform an act of darkness/fire manipulation (including creating a prolonged effect), or summon a creature/creatures, but not both. The magnitude and potential of both depend on your skill - the ring grants ""basic level"" only. You can only absorb the essence of a creature you killed with your own bare hands, and only if it died last turn, at most.)

Dark Metal Cube: A large dark metal cube, 10 meters to a side. The floor is covered by a large amount of underwear, and a rug of a greenish color, that feels like moss to the touch. The ceiling glows with a uniform white light, leaving no significant shadows in the room. Along three of the walls, there are 9 pedestals, marked "I" through "IX". The pedestal marked "IV" is encased in a pillar of green crystal. The "VIII" pedestal is glowing. On the fourth wall, there is a green panel with nine yellow buttons, also marked "I" through "IX", and two smaller buttons, one marked "X" in the upper right corner, and one marked "Hepl" in the bottom left. The "IV" button on the panel is depressed and glowing green. On the same wall there are hatches with latches, leading to quantum underwear stockpiles. One stockpile is depleted, its hatch is surrounded by a red light.
