you are already radiating heat out into the cube... that is why in 2 turns the overheat would be over.

(i just hope you don't get a 6 on that, or you might cook us all)

That went better than I could have hoped!

I'll mentally prepare myself for the journey between dimensions and attempt to absorb information about the world we're entering.  (If I could do this before the button is pressed that'd be great).

That's right, andrea. And he'd freeze himself at the same time. But I guess it's the only way he can cool himself rapidly to temper himself, though I added that line just because that would be the effect, not because it was practical or feasible at this point. :)

If he gets a six, you all better wrap yourself in foil, or all the juicy vitamins will be lost. :D

Only Rooster needs to post his action now, he's run out of spares. If he does, I can tease you all a bit more. ;)

Alright no further votes have been cast, so we have 100% for putting the turn up now. (If only the congress could work so good, eh? :))

It's here then! Rooster saved the day (or not, depending on what happens next), Kashyyk overdid himself, and I might have to go find the source material and recollect the details about this place.

------------
Turn 67
------------
Quote from: chaoticag
I hold the dwarf so that he can travel with us.
|   You walk up to the dwarf and grab him by the hand. He clutches your hand in return.
Quote from: LASD
Using my shield as a mirror, I practice facial expressions and generally try to get better at communicating.
|   You stare into your shield, but the expression of your reflection doesn't change. It makes a rather bad mirror in this sense. You try various expressions, but only manage to train up your facial muscles. (+1 to facial expressions, whatever use that may have)
Quote from: andrea
oh, i try to enchant my hammer (ok, i can't enchant things, but if roll is good it is up to you to invent ways to do our random actions) to do that "throw it and then it comes back to my hands" thing
|   You practice conjuring controllable lightning again, and this time you manage to exert greater control over the electricity. You learn to guide free flowing electrical charges better. As a side effect, you learn that your maul, when wreathed in lightning, can be controlled just like the lightning bolts, and can be made to fly by itself and return to your hand, though it is a lot more difficult to control than lightning by itself. Rejoicing at this development, you let your maul fly, guiding it in a wide arc around the room! All went well until you accidentally guided the maul at Gantolandon, bashing him in the head and knocking him unconscious. The maul returned to your hand, and Gantolandon was healed by the cube, but he's still unconscious. (+1 electricity manipulation, can manipulate electrically charged objects with a -2 penalty)
Quote from: Frelock
Since I'm going with Jedi here (thanks for the suggestion), I'll try to get better reflexes so I can dodge easier.
|   You try to follow the Mii'Ari's example and start practicing agility. Unfortunately, you prior agility training proved insufficient for the stunts you tried to pull off and you fumble your first double-backflip and land on your head. The cube quickly heals the otherwise dangerous skull and spine damage, and you are left with just a ringing head.
Quote from: Neo1096
I learn to create/fix technology by examining the mechanics of the cube and understanding how it works.
|   There's little in the cube in the ways of technology. The panel is sealed, and does not have any visible way of removing it from the wall or taking it apart. When you try to do it regardless, the lights suddenly go out, as does the panel. You are not affected by the sudden darkness, but everyone else is.
Quote from: Kashyyk
I remove the heat from my body, radiating it out into the cube.
|   You focus on your body, and try as hard as you can to force it to lose heat. Uncountable pores open up on your body, and some internal force begins rapidly pumping the air around you through your body, cooling you down until you're almost freezing! The process overstresses your structure, and while the material becomes harder, it also becomes too brittle!(+1 against slashing, -1 against blunt) As another side effect, the superheated air circulates in the cube, scalding everyone who is touched by it! | Gantolandon and Zako were close enough to the floor to be untouched, LASD, Frelock, and chaoticag managed to avoid the heat by simply being in the right places, but the rest were nearly cooked by the heat release. Thankfully, the cube reacted quickly and the burns and tissue damage were healed for everyone. Korora, Boksi, and andrea are left stunned by the pain. The lights flicker.
Quote from: korora
I'll mentally prepare myself for the journey between dimensions and attempt to absorb information about the world we're entering.  (If I could do this before the button is pressed that'd be great).
|   You sit down and concentrate, anticipating the upcoming worldshift. (+1 to transcendence roll)
Quote from: Jay Kayell
I build a practice dummy out of underwear and use it to improve my combat skills.
|   The sudden darkness distracts you, but not before you're almost done with the dummy. You practice melee attacks on it, and quickly tear it into shreds. You'll need a tougher target if you want to practice better. (you're already pretty powerful, so get another perfect on training please) The lights flicker again and light up fully.
Quote from: Zako
I learn how to manipulate and control the element of air while im in the trance.
|   You focus you inner consciousness on controlling the element of air. When you have emerged from your trance, you learned how to manipulate the atmospheric masses as if they were your tool. You cannot create air out of, well, thin air - yet, but you can use existing air to create directed airflows, and if you try very hard you could even affect weather. When you try to use your knowledge though, you stumble on an inconvenient obstacle - you're still asleep!
Quote from: Gantolandon
I hit the damn button already.
|   You were knocked out on your way to the button, and don't manage to wake up.
Quote from: Rooster
(RTTAI:{4}): I help Gantolandon push the button
|   You wanted to watch Gantolandon as he pushes the button, but when he was knocked out you decide to go ahead and push the button yourself. You look around, see everyone ready to go, and jam your finger into the "VIII" button. The world before your eyes explodes into a multitude of dark colors, interweaved with green and blue lines, and spinning patterns of red and white. You're a little dazed by it, but the feeling quickly passes.
Transcendence!!!
Boksi:{6-1}   Despite being stunned, Boksi easily withstands the colourful dementia that occurs around him and comes through unaffected.
andrea:{5-1}   Andrea, in high spirits after his success, is also able to endure the transfer.
Frelock:{3-1}   Frelock is unable to withstand the caleidoscope of colors before his eyes, and is utterly nauseated by the affair. He vomits when the shift ends, and the vomit disappears into the rug.
Gantolandon:{4}   Being already unconscious, Gantolandon easily carried himself through the shift.
Kashyyk:{3}   This time, Kashyyk is slightly dazed by the transfer, no doubt because of the recent thermal stress.
korora:{5+1}   Opening his mind to the incoming worldshift, korora tries as hard as he can to absorb any information about the upcoming world as possible. In the series of images he is hit with, he sees a woman in red fighting uncountable enemies, a dark city surrounded by a high wall, several brave men holding out against a ruthless enemy, and a fierce battle on the top of a tall building. Overloaded with information, he passes out.
LASD:{1}   LASD is completely surprised by the worldshift, and the chaotic mess of colors completely disorients him, making him dizzy and nauseous.
chaoticag:{4}   Chaoticag is not affected by the shift, and manages to keep his hand on the dwarf.
Jay Kayell:{4}   JK manages to compose himself and is not affected by the shift.
Zako:{3}   In his sleep, Zako is barely disturbed by the shift, but it still leaves him a little dazed.
Neo:{4}   Neo is not affected by the shift.
Kosak:{1}   The dwarf doesn't fare good in his second transfer, and passes out before dropping out on the other side.
When your sight clears, you see before you the slums of a moderately modern city, with all accompanying articles such as trash and the awful smell. You're in a narrow alleyway between some buildings. You see many tall buildings in the distance. It is night, but the streets are darker than usual because many streetlights are out. You feel that there's something terribly wrong, and you also have the feeling of a great imminent danger that will threaten all of you very soon. The green panel is on a nearby wall, which is covered by the metallic texture from the cube. The green rug is still under your feet.
Quote from: Boksi
Meanwhile, I watch pedestal number VIII.
|   You were distracted by the pain from the heat wave, and in the split second before the shift your eyes were not focused. You think you spotted a shadow of a semitransparent cylindric object before you were carried away.
------------
NPC Actions:
Allied:
Quote from: Kosak Sidasin Lokumzuden
A stocky bearded creature that is the dwarf. Once a Keeper of Nogzulban, this dwarf has travelled with your company almost by accident. Clad in shiny plate armor with a chainmail underneath, this dwarf could be a potent warrior. Armed with an axe, but cannot use it properly. (+1 target dodge)
The dwarf attempts to stand up and look around.
|   He stays unconscious.
