Don't you have any keyboard shortcuts to scroll down a large amount or something?

The problem with Excel spreadsheets is that it scrolls per-row, it does not allow a part of a row onscreen, only whole rows. So screen-high rows are quick to scroll through, but somewhat... unwieldy.

I'm sorry people, I won't be able to put a turn up now. The turn's rather long (many individual enemies), and I need to sleep now, because I need to get up earlier than usual. I'll try to finish and post it when I get to work tomorrow. Your fate is still largely undetermined, because the biggest baddies are yet to act.

Yeah, I just do my RTD in the reply window. It works fine. The only problem is that I can't save, but I could just copy it into a text/word document if I cared enough to do that.

I frequently need copies of previous turns. Also, a lot easier to manage. Also also, autoreplace for "[ acronym ]" tags. It really saves a lot of typing, and allows you to do stuff while offline, like refer to info from previous turns or copypaste stuff. Really, it works like a charm. I did the first 6 or so turns in a text doument. A lot less pretty.

I'll get to the current turn in an hour or two.

I take it no turn today either?  That's understandable, what with all the NPC rolls to do.  I think that's what killed the Mad Wizard's Arena; just hope the same doesn't happen here.

Out of curiosity, how do you format the turns in an excel sheet?

Easy. Small cells, tags in individual cells, just typing forum code when needed. It's not any worse than doing it in a text document or the reply window, especially with the amount of writing I need to do.

And turn's coming up. Halfway through I decided to optimize the environment, so now only the 5 GCS and the 3 demons have their own rolls, but the players outside just "roll against the monsters", pretty much like the elven assault rolls before, but somewhat more coherent. I need to finish the statuses now, which, I must say, should be rather easy - not many changes (except location) this turn, only a few of you received wounds. Your companions weren't so lucky, Frelock might want to take drastic measures.

Also, I hope this game won't die easily, at least because it's the best entertainment I've had from an online game in quite a while now. I just suffer from sleep deprivation periodically, and most of my writing takes place either slightly before/past midnight, or at work, where I am not only sleepy but also periodically plagued by customers. It'd be better if the customers actually bought stuff though. :-\

Alright, turn is here. It's rather long, and various stuff has happened, so, please, don't post actions 'till you're sure there are no major mistakes (like a missing bonus/penalty). I suspect swarm rules should have been invoked somewhere...

------------
Turn 51
------------
Quote from: Frelock
I attempt to enter into a super-healing state, where, surrounded by my TK bubble, I can instantly heal my companions the moment they get injured (say, add an extra roll after damage is taken to see if I heal them and a roll every turn to see if I heal existing damage).
|   As the stasis field around you begins to dissipate and the creatures around you slowly start moving, you begin reciting your chant and attempt to call upon all the powers you have so far learned to enter a meditative healing trance. Unfortunately, the field's disappearance was rather rough, and you are thrown to the ground, your concentration is broken. You are flat on the ground, surrounded by a pack of ratmen.
Quote from: andrea
"As soon as the wall became trasparent, andrea saw the demons and his anger started to rise, these creatures seeding only hate in his heart. Soon the only thing he wanted was to kill them, and his anger and hate increased more and more, and thus he spoke till the bubble released him:
Gods of the heavens, help me to fight your ancient enemies!
Sparks started coming from his body, his power increasing
Lightning and Thunder that helped me
Earth on which I walk
Air that I breathe
Water that endlessly flows from the mountains
Fire that burns inside me
GIVE ME THE POWER TO KILL THESE ENEMIES!

As he said these words andrea charged his powers and rose above the ground, all the space around him filled with sparks. His eyes suddenly go white and a voice is heard, so weak that it is barely understandable, but so loud that everyone can hear it
Demones, filii inferorum
semines interitus currite.
Ad noctem perpetuam terrae revolate
ubi semper eritis!

After these words are said, his eyes go red and he is ready to attack. (fixed)

many words, short action: i attack nearby enemyes, mainly flying ones."
|   Despite your best efforts to concentrate and enspirit yourself with words and chants, the abrupt discharge of the stasis field still broke your concentration. You are standing amidst the army of darkness. Several copper golems, at least one spider, and a large amount of purplish demon rats are swarming around you.
Quote from: korora
Given my giant sword, I think I'm best off focusing on the latter, so I'll defend the others who are "amidst the ruins of the keep" with me, hopefully entering a martial trance.
|   No matter how you tried to prepare to throw yourself onto your enemies, you were foiled by the same stasis field discharge. You are slightly confused but ready to fight. A winged demon is not too far away, as well as a few giant moles and troglodytes.
Quote from: Gantolandon
I rush to the tavern, cleaving every monster standing my way.
|   You almost rip the bubble apart yourself as you charge out of it toward the enemies! You throw the socks at the two nearest golems as if they were tomahawks! | The socks fly perfectly, | knocking the heads off the golems! You run to the tavern, striking left and right with your axe, | crushing skulls and chopping through necks of ratmen, but are suddenly confronted by a demon descending straight into your path! The demon breathes fire! | In a marvellous display of agility, you jump over the cloud of flame that roasts nearby critters, and strike at the demon with your axe! | He quickly evades your attack, but doing so clears a way for you! You rush past him and finally make it to the tavern. As you'd expect, it's much less occupied than the keep, but a few curious ratmen and batmen are still crawling around in its ruins.
Quote from: Jay Kayell
I (drop the axe and) go to the tavern and kill everything that tries to stop me.
|   As you drop out of your bubble, you waste no time. Throwing your axe into the meanest-looking spider (|cutting two of its legs off), you scoop up both the dwarf and Elica, fan out your weapons, and charge through the ranks of monsters toward the tavern! | You stomp down the demon rats and throw away ratmen, moles, and troglodytes alike, with barely a motion of your powerful arms! Many of them die, slashed and pierced by your arsenal. Even when another giant spider tries to block your path, you do not stop, instead firing a volley of arrows  at it! | The arrows strike into the monster's legs, breaking half of them and making the spider drop to the ground in front of you! Picking up speed, you run right over its body, and then leap from it, right over the rest of the critters, | and land at the tavern, your live cargo still intact.
Quote from: Boksi
If the helmet is big enough for it to fit on me, I'll put it on. Regardless of whether it fits or not, I'll try to be all intimidating and try to get to JK, preferably using my earth manipulation non-ability.
|   The helmet is actually a little larger than you'd like it to be, but it doesn't seem to fall off easily, so you keep it on your head. You focus and emanate a menacing aura to protect yourself from the monsters. As soon as the bubble lets you out into the swarm of demon rats in front of you, you call to your dormant earth manipulation powers and raise yourself above the monsters on a large pillar of rock! With a motion of your hand, you order a long row of pillars to rise between you and the tavern, | and then quickly run along their tops to reach JK.
Quote from: Kashyyk
I will attempt to change my vision to visible light, or some other view that lets me see the demons and my friends and know which is which. If possible I also charge towards my friends to help protect them.
|   The quirky control mechanism of the vision switcher finally succumbs to your continued efforts to switch to visible light, and you are able to look at your surroundings. Three copper golems stand nearby, intently looking at you. An idea appears in your head. When the bubble lets you out, you do nothing and just stand firmly, without moving. The golems continue staring at you. Then, as if recognizing you as one of them, move off towards other players. The other creatures also don't touch you.
Quote from: chaoticag
   I maintain the stasis bubble.
|   Hastily remembering your actions that brought you here, you focus your thoughts and manage to prevent the stasis bubble around you from collapsing. Suddenly the world around you skips to several minutes into the future, and the bubble continues to dissolve.
Quote from: LASD
I'll run like hell to the tavern with the key and the artifact. If possible I paralyze the GCS when I have arrived.
|   You pump yourself up in preparation for the mad dash. Once the bubble releases you into normal timespace, your peace power blends with persuasion, and goes into overdrive, quickly immobilizing pairs of critters as they appear in your view, and giving them orders to jump away! You manage to get to the tavern without problem, and fix your eyes on a large spider and a nearby ratman after you approach JK.
Quote from: Rooster
treat it like getting along with this (if I haven't) and probable new bodies that might occur
|   You're fairly well acquainted with the quirks of your body, but you're not sure if you can handle any more freakish mutations just as well. | You feel rejuvenated. The spider near you feels hungry.
------------
NPC Actions:
Quote from: Elica Larifera
Elica is a swordself. Recently hired by Frelock. He's armed with a wooden longsword, and dressed in (somewhat pierced) green-grey close-fitting clothing with scarce leaf-shaped decoration. Is badly burned, but otherwise alright.
Barely managing to get his bearings on the changed situation, the elf quickly recognizes the best use for himself and leaps at the ratmen in the tavern cellar!
|   The ratmen are busy feasting on the remnants of the various meats, and Elica crashes into the middle of them, slashing them with lightning-quick roundhouse strikes! | Natural instincts allowed the ratmen to jump away, barely getting their noses scratched by the elf's sword.

First Keeper is dead. His key is taken.
Second Keeper is dead. His key is taken.
Third Keeper:{2}   The dwarf is utterly confused and is just standing there.
Fourth Keeper is dead. His armor is taken with the key.
Final Keeper is dead.
Marksdwarf guard: status unknown

Second imp:{2}   The second imp's flight is seriously disrupted by the stasis bubble, he loses lift after being so abruptly stopped, and falls to the ground.

Tavern ratmen:{6}   The ratmen, enraged by the elf interrupting them so, all leap onto him! | Elica tried to jump up, but they grabbed him and pinned him down, tearing his flesh with their teeth! | Large chunks of meat are torn out of the elf's body, he screams in pain as he is being practically eaten alive! | He's seriously bleeding and in a lot of pain, but the ratmen didn't get at his vitals - yet.

Tavern batmen:{5}   Several batmen that were near the tavern see JK and the dwarf and swarm them! | JK is too slow, and three batmen charge at him, | knocking him to the ground and striking at any gaps in the armor they can find, leaving deep torn wounds all across his body. | The dwarf fares no better, and the sudden onset of two batmen catches him unaware. | Weaponless, he can't protect himself, and the batmen punch and claw him to near death. A lot of his bones are broken, | but he's not dying just yet.

Army of darkness:{5}   The monsters attack the players in the keep! | Rooster manages to hide using his monstrous features, and Frelock manages to defend with his TK field, but andrea and korora are swarmed! | Quickly reactivating his powers, andrea unleashes a deadly torrent of electrical force, blasting everything and anything standing near! | The bats and rats are scattering in fear, several critters have been toasted by the discharge. | Meanwhile, korora employs a "meat grinder" defence strategy and spins around wildly, slicing and dicing any enemy that comes near! | Trained by years of invading adventurers, most troglodytes manage to escape the striking blade, but some moles got too near and were badly cut up. Nearby golems display enough common sense not to go near.

GCS#1:{4}   The spider standing near Rooster is suddenly hit by a flying enormous axe! Recovering from the loss of two legs, it limps off towards the tavern.

GCS#2:{2}   Another spider is loitering some distance away from the keep, unaware of the goings-on.

GCS#3:{6}   The giant spider near andrea suddenly rears up on its legs and shoots thick strands of webbing from its abdomen, covering a wide area! | The blazing lightning cannot affect webbing, and andrea is thoroughly entangled in it. (-2 agility) | Smaller creatures nimbly jump away from the webs.

GCS#4:{6}   The downed, injured spider not far from the tavern decides to use its ranged weapon as well! Thick strands of webbing fly through the air towards JK! | JK turns over on the ground, and quicky stands up, shoving two batmen into the webbing! | Boksi is out of reach of the strands on his column. | LASD manages to move away without letting the other spider out of his view. | Again the smaller creatures, probably used to these attacks, quickly move out of the way of the webs.

GCS#5:{Auto-2}   The spider stands still, mesmerized by LASD.

Winged demon#1:{5}   The demon Gantolandon ran past recently flies up again, and throws a fireball at him! | Gantolandon is hit by the fireball directly in the chest! | The fire splatters across the bone plates of his armor, and harmlessly falls to the ground, barely singeing the hair off the exposed areas of his skin.

Winged demon#2:{3}   A demon near korora takes an interest in him, and flies closer, but is wary of korora's giant sword, and does not attack.

Winged demon#3:{4}   Another demon was not too far away from chaoticag. He flies over to the now-transparent stasis bubble and strikes at it with his claws! But the bubble is completely impervious to damage.

---------
Environment:
Human/Dwarven Capital:   Large city on the outskirts of hell knows where. Holds a modest amount of homes, from hovels to two-floor apartment buildings, a set of shops, a (destroyed)temple, and a (demolished)keep. Now overrun by an army of darkness.
Tavern:   Was a two-floor building. Now it's a mangled ruin, thoroughly blasted apart. The building used to contain your enter/exit point, but how to use it is completely up to you now.
Food store:   Square one-floor building with long tables laden with salted and fried meats of all kinds. There's a single wide table at the far end, with a chest on top of it. There's a mighty fine hole broken through the ceiling.
Cloth store:   Rolls of cloth and various cloth, silk, and leather articles of clothing are on the many shelves inside this building. There's a single wide table at the far end, with a chest on top of it. The entire building is barely standing, most of its roof is collapsed. There's a pile of elf-paste near the building, and some elven corpses.
Armor store:   Everywhere in the shop various pieces of armor are thrown about, shields of different sizes litter the floor, and arrayed under the now-broken shelves and tables are enough various boots to outfit a battalion. A large hole is broken through a side wall. The door is toen down. The building took several ballista bolts during the battle. At the far end of the building, there is a single wide table. The heavy chest is on the floor, broken, a large supplement of coins from it now covers the floor.
The Keep:   Was once a tall, proud building. Now a mighty large pile of rubble. There is one (covered) pit in the center of the first floor, with something glowing below.
The Temple:   Tall and proud, beautiful building of white marble, a solid first floor surrounded by columns is supporting several ring-shaped floors held up by beautiful marble supports. A deep pool of shiny, clear water can be seen inside the building. Well, it probably was like that. The entire thing has recently tried to rise up in mighty wrath as a gigantic statue of a carp, but failed miserably and broke to pieces. Afterwards, the overpowered Rooster single-handedly sent the whole place into oblivion along with the elves, who now cannot be seen, heard, or even smelled by anyone other than themselves.
------------
Background: [3]   The army of monsters seems to have been lessened a bit by your actions. However, you notice a large band of creatures not far off, walking together. You suspect they are walking together with the chief monster. Amidst the ruin of the tavern, Boksi manages to notice the green rug, still intact, and the panel on it is still intact as well.

No time to take out those head monsters, though.

Let's get the artifact and everybody else with us, and scram!

I send TK blasts to knock out the most threatening monsters, beginning from the demon who just attacked me. I generally try to cover everyone who haven't yet managed to reach the tavern.

I'd like to do this after everybody else has had their turn:

I descend downwards to JKL, get my ring from him and put it on.
