???The firecap is a type of mushroom. It's bright-red coloring signifies the danger of eating it; it's somewhat poisonous and extremely spicy. It's possible to squeeze the poison out, although it breaks down quickly, leaving only various compounds left. These compounds can, however, be distilled into a spicy alcoholic drink called "molten gold". It can grow in all seasons and grows relatively quickly.

???The glowcap is a type of mushroom, noted for it's luminescent surface. Although extremely disgusting to eat, when crushed, dissolved in water and fermented it makes a dwarven favorite, glowing wine, which retains the glowcap's phosphorescent qualities but not it's horrid taste. It grows very slowly, and does not grow at all in the latter half of the year.

???A dark, droopy mushroom that has come to symbolize melancholy in dwarven culture; any dwarf that commits suicide out of depression is honored by a glumcap on top of his or her coffin. Although it grows very quickly, it can only be made into sub-par products. Glum rum is a bitter tasting, albeit alcoholic drink made by crushing the mushroom into paste and fermenting it; any port in a storm. By dissolving the paste in water, it's possible to make a black dye, although it does not look very good at all.

???A dwarf who dislikes paledomes is no dwarf at all! The paledome is the most valuable plant you will find in a dwarven fortress. It's possible to make thread out of it's cap, which is essentially one string that's been layered in a half-sphere on top of a stem. Clothes made out of this material are considered wonderfully soft. It can also be crushed into a paste to be fermented into a kind of wine, which the dwarves named "glorious wine". After tasting it, one is inclined to agree. The downside is that this large plant takes an extremely long time to grow and grows only in winter.

It can be crushed into a powder similar to spice and is extremely spicy. This lava dust, as it is called, can also be fermented into an extremely alcoholic and spicy drink, the sober dwarf's respite, which is the single most common drink in upperclass parties. It grows quite slowly and only in spring and winter, but the wait is generally agreed to be worth it.

Whether they are truly evil or merely oases of good is debatable, but boneflowers can be made into the purest white dye, and it's leaves are considered a delicacy by those who can bring themselves to tear them off.
