I'll share one of the many vile abominations from an upcoming mod of mine.
The Dorepelix vaguely resembles a horned primate with sharp claws and blood-red fur. The blood of the Dorepelix, however, is extremely volatile, and when killed or subjected to extreme temperatures, they tend to violently explode, often killing their opponent and anything else around them, including other members of the pack, who subsequently also explode. Approach with extreme caution.

Should work, I just had a wounded one blow up shortly after a herd of them tore apart an adventurer, and the only things I've changed since then are adding horns and changing IGNITE_POINT to HEATDAM_POINT.
The stone used for the itemcorpse (once appeared naturally to annoy miners, but I removed the environment tokens after an unlucky caravan blew up. Hopefully they won't do that now.) and many other things in my unfinished mod, most of which I won't disclose until it's no longer unfinished:

As for how the name came to be, the plural (dorepelixen) is an anagram of one form of the German word for "explode" (explodieren). Figured someone would ask that eventually, so I thought I might as well mention that now.
