Product in Reactions
« on: August 30, 2008, 10:41:31 am »

What does the number after the word product in the reactions (the 100) do, as I have heard both the percentage of the result happening and the percentage of the output that it creates. (half a bar) Toady, if you are out there, could you help to clear this up?

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!
Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead - A fun zombie survival rougelike that I'm dev-ing for.

This is the percentage of the output (not chance).

Not according to this post, where an experiment was performed with separate smelters, so that the accumulation of fractional products wouldn't matter.  That experiment seemed to verify that the number represents the probability of producing a whole product, rather than the fraction of the product that is always created.

Maybe it was changed in later versions then.

At least in 33g it was a percentage of the full product.
