That is true. Shame printing money is so expensive. We're losing our one advantage in the market place by the free 200 gold every month plus hard worker medals.

Aye... we could seriously consider the possibility of "burning Gold" by printing baht. There are a lot of economic implications to consider (e.g., "economic tourists" coming to buy up our cheap goods then leave), and this move won't be popular on its face with a lot for instinctive knee-jerk reasons. But it is a real possibility, albeit yes, an obscenely expensive one. Nothing I'd recommend anytime soon, but we need to remember this arrow is in our quiver.

That is the other problem. I'm not even sure if you have to move to a country in order to buy products from it. Its possible to view other countries marketplaces, maybe its possible to buy straight from there. Have to ask that Neerland SO about it.

5m of testing with the SO indicates you have to be there. However, I'm pretty sure you can move your SO to another country and then transfer raw materials directly to a company it manages without being in the same country. I could experiment, I suppose. I should find some place with cheap Wood. ;)

Non-raw-materials need to be muled.

Hmm... it still wouldn't be cost-effective, but if we bought Wood in Brazil, we could shave 0.7g off our production costs, dropping them from 1100-1400 THB to ~940. No one would be able to afford our product even at that price, but it'd be getting closer to being feasible.

Double hmm... actually, if we bought an export license to Brazil, we could undercut the native producers by ~30% and still turn a 1.75g profit per Q3 House (i.e., charge as much for a Q3 House after taxes as Brazilian producers charge for a Q2). We'd break even on the license after having sold 11. It'd be painfully slow, but it could almost work if we didn't want to pack up and move to the DS company.

Triple hmm... well, those numbers are contingent of the value of Gold not crashing any further than it already has. Which it probably will.

There is the problem that the "native" producers in brazil are run like the TNT businesses, government subsidized. I don't know that we could undercut them enough after taxes to make up for it. Now a trickier method we could use is to start a newspaper there and sell person to person. Could be a fun thing to try and would allow us to half our price compared to using the export license.

Well, again, like I said I looked at the prices right now and even after taxes we could substantially undercut them. The key point is that they have their Housing tariff at 15%. This, combined with lower Wood prices than we have in eThailand, would let us undercut their prices by ~3g after taxes while still realizing a 1.75g profit. However, if they were to "fix" Housing prices after we started selling there, we'd be hammered but proper. Well, we could still undercut them, but our profit margin would shrink to almost nothing (< 0.5g, if that). So it'd be a massive risk for a rather slow return on investment.

Holy shit E. Albright!  I just read your awesome response to Antonio in the TRP Presidential Nomination debate thread.  I want to see how he responds to the "Why was beorn talking to himself" thing.

Seriously, when that guy comments I have to wipe the slime off of my laptop...

Wow, I had thought that Antonio was a slimebag but not that much of a slimebag.

"My comments seem to have magically dissapeared...."

Damn, Albright.  You're PISSED!  Go for the jugular!  Go for the jugular!!

In other news: Hi Antonio!  Based on your direct quote I can tell you've been reading these threads.  Hope you also enjoy Dwarf Fortress!  I don't know if your role in eRepublik in any way reflects on you as a person.  After all, even Rockman has said that he's just playing an "evil character", which I partially believe.  But you seriously cannot expect most people to believe you when you say that your only involvement in the hospital scandal was that you received money.  You're probably familiar with the word sycophant: a person who tries to please someone in order to gain a personal advantage.  You have never really been critical of Rockman and the things he did, you always praise him for all the "work" he's done for eThai.  You even went so far as to partially defend his actions in the scandal and you actually think that he should be allowed to be a congressman.  Why?  How can you trust someone that has done something so heinous as robbing a country for himself and his friends!?

Hope you play some DF while you're here, and good luck in your candidacy.  (I mean that sincerely)

I'm starting to get pissed too. Truthfully I expect to get banned for my comment in Ealb's article regarding dogs and shooting them.

Anybody interested in co-managing charmin with me, since i've been pretty busy lately and couldn't check up on it?
Also, Charmin is somehow the only food company with prices that aren't horrendous. Woohoo!

In his third explanation article, he asks what DF is and since we haven't mentioned it ever on erepublik, we know hes reading this. In explaination 2, he states that he will continue his subsidizing of companies if elected. In explaniation one in the comments, he complains that I called him a dog and continues to defend Rockman. Really quite interesting.

A thought occurs. Could the recent downtime of the forum have been related to TNT discovering this discussion spot? I really don't want to think its true, but it is something I just thought of.

If he thinks we haven't mentioned it, he hasn't been paying attention.

I don't think we ever mentioned it by name. I know we referred to it as an outside forum but never as a game.
