Karlito, it gets worse. Earlier in the day we had seats being called for people with 0 votes. The bloody system still doesn't require at least one single vote to win.

All told, it looks like we managed to hold TNT to 17 seats. Essentially by coincidence, this is the proportion of votes they had cast for their candidates, so that's fair, anyway. 49/121 votes, and 17/40 seats.

This is lower than their turnout for the presidential; the war in Brazil may have drawn some off. If it heats up, we'll probably see even more go.

If we divided all the votes that Ealb got(leaving him with enough to get in) to other non TNT congress members we probably could have gotten rid of a couple of TNT's seats... Oh well, people just love you too much.

Yeah, Fey... that's the main reason I had moved to the Northeastern region, as the same thing happened last election. I'm too high profile; I expect I was picking up sixth-party and unaligned votes based on pure name recognition. But then when the bugs cropped up on Sunday and it looked like we had next to no one in Central, I moved back to bolster it (plus I figured with exactly 7 candidates it wouldn't matter as long as everyone remembered to vote for themselves).

I really, really, really hate this "electoral system". It's worse than the one we had last month, if such a thing can be believed.

Well, the election results seem to have disappeared, but it seemed like TNT had about 17 congressmen, we had 10 and Sabai had about 6.  I'm sure it will be fixed in due time, but for now a point to ponder:
Since there don't seem to be any ideological differences between us and Sabai, why don't we form some kind of merge with them.  It seems to me that congressional elections will probably be like this for a while and if we are splitting votes between Sabai and Us then I think the only party that will benefit is TNT.  Combining out parties will allow us to organize our congressmen on a national level, instead of saying things like, "Sabai is going to try and take the South region and we'll handle the rest."  Having a system like that clumps our voter distribution and prevents us from winning as many seats as we might.

I just realized something extremely basic but still odd. We just got 200 gold added to the eThailand pool of all gold. Assuming the congressmen are decent workers, thats another 200 gold a month plus every noncongressmen who gets that medal. Thats 400 gold a month floating around in a currency and population pool thats extremely small. Granted in countries like eUSA thats not very noticable, but now would be the time to pool our money and do things needing gold like help upgrade Guy Kilmores diamond mine and start a war with Brazil. Kidding about the war.

Do you get an alert or badge or something if you win a seat in congress? The election results won't show up, but I'm pretty sure I lost.

I would be willing to donate some of the gold I'll be getting from worker medals to a worthy cause if we start pooling our money for stuff.

Wooty, Andrea, the results are finally showing. You both won seats.

However, Fey Dwarf appears to have been edged out the TDP candidate who got another 2 votes in the last 15m of the election, 'cause he still was in when I took my last look and cast my vote at 23:45 server. WTF? Guess I wasn't the only one who thought of waiting 'til the very last minute to vote.

As to merging with Sabai in some manner, it has been discussed (or rather, they've opened their arms to whoever wanted to leave TRP in the past). There's something to be said for it, but I think there's also something to be said for not doing so, and foremost amongst those reasons is that even just by having 3 "major parties" instead of 2, we help to encourage the existence of the smaller parties, which IMO is a good thing, at least in principle. But yeah, we can and should have this discussion. I think I may publicly air it in the very near future, when broaching the subject of who we want to run or sponsor for the presidential.

As to a good thing to use for our sudden influx of Gold into the eThai economy: if I were directing its spending, I'd see every (productive) Q1 harvesting company upgraded to Q2. By doing nothing more than spending 20 (okay, and doubling the Wellness hit its workers take every day), the net productivity of a raw material company is increased by a factor of 1.8.

I've had enough of this... I'm not upset by the congress loss as I wasn't really expecting to get in but these bugs are really starting to annoy me, my page never loads what I want it to. When I have to click on a link in the site it loads an old version of the page instead of updating it. An example of this is when I logged on today it said that the elections were still running. I had to refresh the page using f5 before it actually updated, I have to do this with every damn page. Is this a common bug is there a fix?

Two questions: what browser are you using and have you tried completely clearing the cache and cookies?

A Fey, I've never had that problem (I run Firefox). That sounds like a nasty conjunction of their slapdash website and browser quirks.

I use Firefox unless I'm browsing significant quantities of newspapers. I have found that Firefox doesn't like the scripts on newspaper pages and eats up memory. That said IE for me wrecks the formatting of the pages sometimes not even formatting them at all. This is such a poorly designed website I cringe sometimes while browsing it.

I run firefox, but I have multiple add-ons that may be playing havoc with the web page. Ill try deleting the cache and cookies and see if that has an effect. It still doesn't explain why I am randomly logged on to other peoples accounts though... If I really wanted to I could change other accounts (like sell their stuff) due to this bug, but I don't.

edit- I tried to log in again after clearing the cache but was meet by this:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It says I am logged in, yet I am still not logged in?!? I try to click my profile and it brings me back to the login page. I enter in my username and password and am meet by this screen again.
