Oh, and Servant... obviously the reason we need 100 Wellness instead of 10 is so we last an hour instead of 6 minutes against ePakistan and/or eIndonesia if TNT gets enough power back to invade one of them or make it worth the trouble for them to invade us.

Okay, so I just made an account (in USA I think) before really reading through the intro to this post.  Should I make a move to Thailand?  I haven't bothered to read through all 32 pages of this thread so are there any good tips for a starter?

I wrote an entire essay about what to do, then I realized I could just throw a moving ticket at you.

Go to your profile and "Change Location" or whatever to Thailand, it should use up the moving ticket. Try to get a job in raw material production, it's the most needed work right now and the wages are sure to be higher and they might even make the income tax lower.

Cool, thanks.  Any particular region of Thailand (does it even matter?).  Also, is there a particular raw material company that's owned by a DF-er that I should work for?

I'm pretty sure that most of Bay12 lives in Bangkok, Thailand.
As of right now I don't think we have any Bay12 raw material companies. So choose whatever company is hiring, but you might want to check and see if the company owner is part of the TNT political party, because TNT is corrupt beyond corrupt and a lot of their companies are operating on money stolen from the national treasury >.<

Go to North or Northeast. More scenic and not as crowded as Central.

(If you're brand new it may not matter... but then again, it may.)

Just found out I have to wait till the end of the day anyways (I have 9 xp and need 10 to move, should get 1 from eating).  I'll probably go North-East as there's metal there (does that matter?) and it seems like the dwarfier place to go.

A question: are the currencies in game following some sort of exchange rate?  I have about 5 USD, will that just become 5 THB or will it become ~174 THB (according to Google)?

And finally: why are there completely empty countries (like Israel)?

Currencies in eRepublik have their own exchange rate, based on the Forex trading. The eThailand currency is different from the eUSA currency. Google won't help you on that.

Empty countries exist because those countries were invaded and annexed some time ago. For example, Israel was conquered by Turkey (last time I checked, the Israelis now run all of Turkey (calling it the New Israeli Empire), thanks to the SA Goons).

Thats one of the funny things about conquering countries. If you do take em over they can take you over politcally. Not very realistic.

Yeah sorry Charmin has no grain, feel free to leave and i'll post when we get more raw materials. If anyone wants to make a grain company, I can donate 10 gold to the cause if you give me discounts or whatever. I've been on vacation for the past week, so meh.

Well, at least in V1 (according to their promotional liteature about V1), it should be easily dealt with...just don't give citizenship to those people you're conquering.

...And let me guess, V1 hasn't implemented that yet.

Is there any specific area that I should focus on for work?  Raw industries or something?  And how many questions are there about Thailand (I don't know much about Thailand...)

There are about 10 questions relating to Thailand here. Once you figure it out your set.

Yeah, a couple of them are really dang common. Just remember that the monarch of Thailand is the only dude with parentheses - Blahblahblah(Bumbodi) - the bay east of Thailand has the name thailand in it, the last coup in thailand was a military coup, and the capital of Thailand is Bangkok.

Is there a way to quit my job within the first three days of being hired?
