well, yes, but both salaries and taxes need money, which can easily be obtained for gold (so it should matter), and even if they don't start a company they might sill want the money (for houses and high quality food, and maybe gift exchange programs)

Even if they did change the money to gold so long as market prices aren't tied directly to gold, it makes it better to be in a lower exchange rate environment. If it costs 10 bucks everywhere to get Q5 food then it still makes sense to do business in a "weak" gold market.

you said only you will contact Luis about party nominations. I thought it was strange, but I figured you knew what you were talking about.
So I take it you told him nothing?

Added: also Rody is right, lower the d-n price, charmins! we need to send those Irish where they came from.

only during our time of turmoil anyways, but now that we got it sorted out, Luis is the one making contacts---HE released a press release on the party newspaper and on the party's homepage on Erepublik...and no one commented on it, so it was actually YOU guys supposted to say who wanted to run and etc, but you guys didnt bother to tell me or Luis...

and lets kik some Irish ass!

that's the thing though. A Canadian buck costs 2.5 times as much as our buck, why does the food cost the same?

Why shouldn't it?  Due to invite gold, a person can start a company in the most destitute area of the world where money is used as toilet paper and start pumping out Q1 food for a buck a unit no matter especially if he uses an SO so he can work for almost nothing as well.  Until something changes its always going to be the case so the optimum path is to devalue your dollar.

why should it? why sell Q1 food 1 toilet paper piece, if you can sell for 10? and why sell Q1 food for 10 toilet paper pieces when you can sell your 40 gold for a million rolls of it?

Because you can keep making and selling food beyond your 20g investment by selling the cheaper food in other markets where their dollar is greater while maintaining your employees and increasing the exported wealth leading to more immigration waves.

Look at it in DF terms. When starting out you only have what you brought with you (20 gold in eRepublik).  Using this you dig in and start making plump helmets and rum (Q1 food). You then take the rock mugs one of the dwarves produce (Q1 gifts for sake of argument) and sell them back for vital supplies and more booze (currency from a nation with a better money to gold ratio).  You start with nothing of value and by selling the items you produce cheaply to someone else at a profit you get what you couldn't otherwise.

But why would you sell it for 10 bucks at home? gah! I know you are right, but I just can't see why...

in other news, I've typed up a press release for my mayoral candidacy.

Hello guys,
I'm Prestes, the Party President on e-Republik

hmm I was reluctant to register here, because I wanted you to participate more in the game, but I think that I was wrong. Let's chat here then   :)

I'm here to discuss and make proposes to we work together. I think that what wee need is make a better thai =D

First, let's decide our mayor candidates:
http://www.erepublik.com/press_release-39681.html

Second, I want to make some proposes.
We have to work together with our companies. The TRP Food can be the Academy for Charmin ULTRA (because in charmin only can work with skill 2+). We don't need to disput the same market now.

Other think, I have a House Company. I think that we have to put more people in this market, the profit is high and I can pay high salaries. Other companies are being created.

My plan is to place the company at level 2 as soon as possible. For it we need to work together, to put more workers with skill 2+.

Other think, all the companies have the profit on its pages. We can dedice a good tax of profit and use the remainder for the party, for our workers on food market (who receive -salary), Lottery prizes, Gifts Campaigns for our party members, etc.

Is that people,
Best Regards  ;)

Da da dummm!

On a related note, would anyone like to invite me?  I've always thought something like this would be neat, and I finally decided to join.

My email is in my profile, but adelphia.net, not aol.com

actually no, it's not. noone can see your e-mail, but they can send messages through the forum software.
PM someone for invite (see first page for list of people)

also I would like to say this in advance because this comes up every time: the game will NOT ask for your RL pace of residence. it will ask for your placement IN GAME.

Would there be employment for me in Thailand if I moved there? I have been completely unable to find a job where I am now. I bought a moving ticket, but haven't moved yet.
