I believe Pakistan has tried it, and it worked for them...somewhat. Pakistani loyalists rails against citizens 'accidently' buying from the competition...as well as foriegn citizens moving into Pakistan to take advantage of their cheap goods. (I'm going to do a check sooner or later as part of the report on the Pakistan Communist state just to make sure though.)

The main problem with Russia's plan is that you need massive (and voluntary) coordination with every citizen in that country in order to ensure that the Corporation unify together. And when you consider the fact that to have that much coordiation, you need leadership and a common purpose, it becomes very obivous that the end result is a 'non-democracy'...which sorta defeats the purpose of trying to create a simulation to test the 'ideal' Russian Communism/Worker's State. Other than that, the idea would have worked had the United Russians and Communists didn't cause the massive internet drama...but that ties back in the need for massive coordination.

I also am unsympatheic to the idea of having elected CEOs though...

1 Gold = 64.25 THB

As much as we are anti-Rockman, Rockman seems to be decreasing our inflation problem quite well, and not only that. Our stronger currency can make it easier for other nations to import to us. What matters, of course, is that lower taxes are needed in order to capitalize on this lower inflation rate.

EDIT: Sent the invite over to andrea. Also, someone should volunteer to run in the Bangkok mayorship. It is important that we lower the monthly company tax and the house tax down to 0%. We really don't need all that money until we need to buy a hospital, and since we don't relaly need an hospital...meh. Also, the treasury in the City should be reinvested into more productive affairs, either into the major corporations, or as a general stimulus check to everybody in eThailand [or at least in the city of Bangkok] (I prefer the latter to be honest, the general population needs that money more than us, and the tax cut will likely spur some additional consumption...not by a lot though, since the eThais will likely save it, but hey, the eThais need the money more than Bangkok).

I'd volunteer if I have to, it's not as if the job appears to be that hard, but I prefer somebody else does it, just in case it somehow becomes super-complicated. Besides, I don't want to spend more time than needed to play what is supposed to be a 10 min./day game.

EDIT2: By the way, do anyone know the current tax rates in Bangkok? I tried checking Politics, but all I know is that they made +55 THB, likely through taxation, so I know they are taxing. I also know Rockman is for the building of hospitals, hence why the taxation is being done.

I also wonder that somebody may argue that the taxation of Corporations may actually be good because you can then redistrube the wealth over to the regular workers via a 'stimulus check'. I might consider that, but the House Tax has to go. ((And maybe lower the Corporate tax in order to stimulate corporations, but not to 0%.))

I'm pretty sure that taxes are nationwide (and the housing ones are 20%, and there's a 50% import tax- making us fairly secure from competition- this too is hated Rockman's doing, it's almost like his a competent administrator  ::))

at any rate, I'll volunteer for mayor of Bangkok. Do I need to write an article for publicity?

hehe, funny. I'm in the money exchange business, and let me tell you there was never a price of 64 THBs for a gold. the lowest I've seen was 77 for selling and 119 for buying. (currently it's 91 for selling and 130 for buying)

added more: Before you think: hey that's a good profit margin, it's not all peaches and cream- the business is fairly slow, and back when gold was 3-5 '00 a piece I lost several thousand THBs ( about half my savings) by betting on the wrong trend.

If we want protection for the Housing Market, we should have set it up to 99%.

But yeah, it's a good idea to write an article, for publicity as well as giving people a reason to vote against the TNT Mayor. It gives people an idea of what policies you want to implement when you become mayor.

As a clarification: The local Housing Tax is different from the nationwide Housing Tax. The nationwide Housing Tax is value-added and only applies to buying the House, while the local Housing Tax is a fee you have to pay every month to the local government. You have to pay that sort of fee...or lose your house. The local Corporate Tax is also different from the nationwide Income Taxes, the income taxes are levied whenever you pay salaries to the workers (the government takes its share of the salary) or receive any other income, while the local Corporate Tax is a fee you pay to the local government every month. You have to pay that fee or have your Corporation destroyed.

The offical exchange rate is different from the real exchange rate, I admit, but I would assume (quite wrongly as it turns out) that they would be somewhat similar.

Oh yeah, and er, be a little careful about the money exchange business. Currency exchange for profit might be considered 'unethical' by the admins, and you could get banned.

It might be immoral because you are manlipuating the currenncies of the countries, as well as not really making any money through legit methods of working hard for your cash. Remember, it's what the admins view is moral or immoral, not what the rest of the world views it to be. One of the goons was banned for gift trading, and I don't actually see that as immoral.

However, I'm going to retract my comment anyway. Thought I saw it somewhere, but I can't seem to find anything concerte. There is however a rule calling that gaining money through "immoral" means is a violation of the rules, and if they believe it is immoral, they can ban you.

I was afraid of that at first. But people talk about it on the forums and register SO specifically to do it (which is in violation of the letter of the rules, if not the spirit), so I assume it's ok. (besides I've been at it for over 2 weeks, which is where I got the gold/THBs I invested in our joint venture).

BTW the selling prices have reached a new low, 55.6 THB (wooho! (actually this is bad for me- I have more gold than THBs)) )
of all the nations on page one (ARS through HUF) only Canadians buy gold cheaper than the official rate.

Alright, I suffered a sort of mental breakdown, so I will have to abandon my eRepublik account, however, I'll try to write the article on Pakistan, just to talk about how Communism works in eRepublik. Any profit that I make of my share, I strongly suggest reinvesting it back in the corporation.

Can someone explain why we have such a high tax rate? Is it possible that Rockman is going to plunder the treasury? He has no knowledge about how to raise a countries wealth. He is strengthening the Thai dollar in an attempt to encourage imports when we need to strengthen our own companies and export everything possible. By improving our Thai to gold ration more people can afford companies which spreads the labor pool out even farther then it should be. If everyone is making enough to survive and store some in the hopes of earning enough for a house then the economy is doing great. There are 12000 Thai bucks in the government coffers why isn't that being reinvested into the government companies?  Are we attempting to get our weapons companies export licenses so we can sell them to the war torn nations at a profit?

Sorry to hear that Servant. Hope you feel better. Try throwing things and getting into random fights.

Do be aware that according to the latest press releases, any mayor elected will last only until V1 hits, and then the office will disappear... and V1 is slated for a release between 01/10 and 15/10.
