Stupid eThai's. No one wants to hire me for the last day of training.  Oh well.

Urist's Mountainhouses has been created. I thought of naming it "Wat Bang Phra" in order to connect it to the e-Thailand hertiage (considering the fact that none of us are residents in RL Thailand), but decided instead of keeping with the DF theme.

EDIT: Now busy employing those natives who want to enter into the Housing Market, underbidding them in order to try and save as much money as possible. Any Drawf who wants to work there, post your CV in this thread so someone else can employ you.

What are you going to pay employees? I think i might join after I have worked up enough money to buy a moving ticket for later. The moving ticket is only there so that I can go to New Zealand if it is introduced in V1.

If you are paying more than 3THB then I will join now instead of saving up. Thanks.

Well, I just sent out the offers to the natives. All of the offers were 1 THB other than this one guy who I sent out an offer of 2 THB. So, somewhat between 1 THB and 2 THB likely. The SO could discriminate and pay more than that to other DF people, but I prefer keeping costs low so that cheap housing be provided, so, meh. I think it is rather likely wages will rise eventually, but for now.../me shrugs

Anyway, it seems that buying 2Q Food from CHARMIN is barely more expensive than buying 2 1Q food from the competition. It might be a good idea to lower the price then.

EDIT: Also, it might be a good idea too to have some low-quality companies in addition to high-quality companies too. New people train at the low-quality companies before moving onto the high companies, producing goods that can be sold for profit.

Sign me up for a job.  Note that Q2 food is worth more then twice since it lets you either work a Q2 job or a Q1 job plus train every day with no loss in wellness or just work the Q1 job and increase your wellness by a point.  Since you can only eat once a day Q2 food is definately worth more than twice Q1. That being said Q1 food and a Q1 house do the same as Q2 food but I think you need food for the house to work.

Edit: Having run some numbers, with 10 employees at average wellness(50ish), it will take about 4.5 days to make one house, 2 days for 2-5, then 1 day a house from then on, possibly hitting 2 houses a day after a bit.

Eh, I think i'll stick with 1.00 THB (before tax) for the food because every time I put it out, it gets sold out pretty quickly. Once we start having excess stock I mgiht lower the price a bit (or get an export license :P).

bear in mind that on order to work at our *cough* sweatshop *cough* people need to be able to buy q2 food, so you should pay them what you charge for it (and if it sells like that *snaps*, consider rising the price too).

edit: I meant CHARMIN. I keep forgetting I have one of those too...

In CHARMIN, I got a message stating that there is no money in the company, thereby meaning I don't get paid. Um, does that mean that the Company will pay me what I worked later on, when it does in fact get money?
* Servant Corps shrugs

As for the Urist's Mountainhouse company, we right now have 3 employees. I did another round of invites, but it does seem that I may need to start inviting people other than those who want to work in the Housing industry, to try and get as many employees as possible.

Oh, and thanks Beron for running the numbers on how much time it takes for a house to be made.

That's a bug.

We, in fact, have more than enough money.

Actually having worked a day, it seems the numbers I ran were a couple days low. I produced about half of what I expected. Doesn't help that the wiki throws out variables without giving any explanation of what they mean. I think the problem was the (expected daily presence %). I had assumed it was a constant based on previous performance but it seems its an indicator of how many people worked that day every time someone works. The first person to work that day only gets 68% of what they would normally produce whereas if everyone works the last person gets almost a 250% bonus.

Fun fact: If we combined all the housing companies, we could get housing out at 1 a day almost from the start and fairly cheap. As it stands no one can afford it because of all the diversity.
