The problem doesn't lie inherently with the conquering of nations but with the forum groups.
You're right. I was busy trying to talk about the problems of conquering territories that I forgot that key point that the forum groups are the real problems.
There does not seem to be any defense against them. And V1 will be coming in way too late in order to stop them, and will in fact be abused by the Forum Groups to keep power in their own clique. I do not believe that you can wage an insurgency to free your own country in V1.
[[As for the adminship, I have no confidence in their power to do anything other than mess with the economy some more and ban people. I mean, according that topic A_Fey_Drawf linked me to, the admins possibly banned one of the goons for "gift-trading", the tactic of giving a gift, and then have the person you give the gift to decide to give a gift back to you, thereby both beniefting. Sounds like a legit tactic, but they were against it, which was strange.
Then again, I don't quite know of ANY good solution to stop nations from printing lots and lots of money in order to fund their cronies, which was one of the "crimes" the Goons committed while in control of Greece and Turkey. All the admins did was drop a few zeroes of the Turkish lira, restricted the amount of money that can be printed at any one time, and tell people strongly not to do it again. If I was an admin, I'd abolish the Turkish lira entirely and have the economy run on gold, the rationale being that since the Turkish lira is worth zlich, nobody in their right mind would use it for anything other than burning firewood. But even that's a bit of a kludge, and shows how complicated the economic system is.
