I've kinda assumed that all the settlements in FO3 were bigger than they look. Lol, certainly all the cities settlements in FO3 can't just have 20 people at most? Fallout 2 was much bigger in that sense :P

While this is not wrong, I challenge anyone who gets hung up on the small size of Fallout 3's towns to open up the editor and try making an appropriately sized town.  With all the proper detail.  With NPCs worth talking to.  Then get a bunch of voice actors to supply that.

In the old Fallouts, the towns could be made in a couple hours by just placing some isometric walls, and maybe 5% of the "people" walking around actually had more dialogue than just random banter lines.  Without an army of level builders and loads of development time, you can have either size or detail, not both.

Well, they had a huge, empty world. I really prefer detailed towns than a detailed world, with a bunch of raiders liberally scattered about in caves. Raiders are OK.. but there's like more raiders and supermutants scattered than actual civilians, and I miss having someone to talk to.

The old Fallouts were fun in that sense, you could break into someone's home, rummage about the place and find easter eggs lying around, laser pistols, etc. Yeah, one thing that disappointed me in FO3 was that finding a laser pistol was not fun. Hell, I started the game having a good gun, and being able to kill trained vault guards, instead of having to survive through the first 2 hours of the game with a sharpened spear. Laser pistols in FO3 were just.. meh.

I know I'm not going anywhere with this post, but the thread is left open for whining anyway and I'd rather whine where nobody is looking :P

And explain the benefits of tesla armor?

I KNOW it gives you a bonus with Energy Weapons, at least I think so...okay I don't know, I use the T51b.

And its slightly better than regular Enclave Power Armour.

Uh, I guess the benefits are a small amount, unless that is you use energy weapons, as I think they give you a nice bonus while also not having a wimpy armour value, and actually a good one.

Alright, it's official. I am now a ray gun wielding (I found the alien gun! Weeee!) cannibalistic slave trader. This is pretty fun.

That is an argument! GAH! Don't do that!

Okay, backing down. Ioric, do you think we can finish this now? Can we agree to disagree and move on?

And explain the benefits of tesla armor?

No, it's not.  An argument, is a series of statements designed to illustrate a point.  As far as I can tell you're just saying a bunch of things for the sake of disagreeing with me rather than actually trying to make any sort of point.  Even now you keep doing that by claiming that what you're doing is arguing.  You're just being obstinate.  If you really wanted to back down you wouldn't keep telling me I'm wrong.

No, you know what? I'm taking away your damn keys. No more. This thread is here to talk about Fallout 3. Your pushing something that doesn't need talking about. You don't like the damn game, fine, but I'm here to talk about blowing up Raiders with a MIRV attack to display my awesome overkill, not to talk about how stupid and cartoony Moira is. I KNOW Moira is cartoony.

Get out.

I like Moira. She is one of the few genuinly kind and helpful people in the game.

Of course she is a Total Slave driver but given that she gives you some of the best rewards for just about any quest in the game it can be forgiven.

I didn't kill her. But I did paste the brains of her Merc all over the wall with my Magnum when he was being VERY RUDE to me.

I of course ran out of town with a whole shitload of bullets flying my way.

Moria: "Please, don't disarm the bomb, Servant Corps! That bomb has never hurt a living being."

I have to give the game back to my friend soon (hes getting kinda insistent) so I'm trying to raise as ridiculous a body count as possible by killing people if they say stupid things or look at me funny.

What's that "if" doing there? There is no reason not to replace every NPC's grey matter with five pounds of hot lead. Kill the Overseer! Kill Dr. Li! Kill Dave! Kill those Oasis nuts (but not Harold, he's cool).
