Um, Ioric Kittencuter, you don't seem to really like this thread. You could lock it, you know, and prevent anyone from ever bumping it. If you want.

He started the thread with intent of bashing on Bethesda, so its not really surprising why he doesn't like a thread about a game he...well doesn't like.

If people want to talk about Fallout 3, then they'll just make another thread. I won't of course. SOMEONE ELSE can.

Me neither. I like The Elder Scrolls: Fallout a little bit, but not enough to make a thread for it.

It's like a lame 1950's pulp sci-fi film that you like a little bit for the explosions and the pulpness but don't treat it seriously otherwise.

Same I suppose. Like I said, I'm here for the explosions and the shooty bits.

And for that, Okenido can bite me.

I dislike all recenet TES games. Some cool ideas but I couldn't get into them.

In FO3 it the fact that I was playing an FPS where tactics, stragety, and skill are flung so far out the window really bothered me.. The only real way to win fights was to have your stats > their stats.

I am fine with this in any other type of game. But when you use that system in an FPS it actually makes you feel MORE detached from your character than if you were playing an isometric RPG.

And the fact that everything in that game is floating. seriously.... wtf mate?

Well, when I finished the game, I put in President Eden's Special Sauce into the water treatment plant and killed all the mutants... at the cost of that stupid BOS soldier's life. Good riddence. Seriously.

I don't get how they were bad guys other then that they shoot at you when you get too close.

The only awesome thing about the game was looting ruined buildings for bottles of Wonderglue and random crap to sell to traders to repair your Chinese Assault Rifle.

The game was cool, the landscape and certain bits of it were wicked awesome but... man... it could have been SO MUCH COOLER! But it wasn't. Thats why it was disspointing.

Just the fact that the Enclave seemed like the best good guys to arrive in the wastelands that could happen, they had a mad, vile plan to control a goddamn water treatment plant and they shot at me.

So obviously they are 100% vile evil bastards.... or something.

Well, Liberty Prime just about made up for the awfulness of the entire plot.

Fallout 3 is disappointing. The main plot revolves around the Enclave, which with the circumstances involved, I DO NOT SEE how they are bad-guys.

"Oh lordy! the USA government took over our water-treatment plant! I will kill myself to keep this sewage processing facility out of the hands of the government in this dire, inhospitible wasteland on the verge of ruin by super-mutants, raiders, dangerous mutated wildlife and The Republic of Dave!"

That's because the Enclave is anti-Radioactive Mutant, and they see everyone exposed to radition as mutants who need to die. Since you are exposed to this radition, you are a mutant, and thus they hate you. If you didn't want to die, convince the BoS woman to die for you.

There is an alternate ending where you can go out and actually work with the Enclave, and posion the water supply, in order to destroy all Mutantkind. You still die, but you are dying for to save the United States!

What really irks me about the ending, is that the Chosen One vault dweller guy had no reason to stop Colonel Mustard from turning on the super water cleaning machine: it had already been established that the Colonel told President to go get fucked up the vacuum tube when the latter told him about the plan to poison the world.... more. That's why he had to ask the player to do it instead.

In fact, super mutants and ghouls don't give a crap about radioactivity, so even if the Colonel just wanted to destroy the machine, it would only affect the more or less human-looking population. There weren't many indications that he planned to do so - essentially the (good) player had to lie to the paladins Brotherhood by showing them the virus container, that the Colonel had already refused to use, to get them to take action.

You know what we need, some way for semi-fans of The Elder Scrolls: Fallout to actually talk to each other and spread tips. I had some fun with TES: Fallout, and I'm not going to go out and let others scream about how it's not fun. Believe me, I've seen far worse games out there.

That's because you're having Bad Wrong Fun.

And I would if I didn't pay money to watch women kill each other.

Yes, I agree, Liberty Prime is indeed VERY AWESOME.

He throws actual sized Fat Man bombs from his back, shoots LAZERS OUT OF HIS EYES, and can rip apart anything that gets in his way...if he doesn't step on it first.

Also, he has super cool lines like THE LAST DOMINO FALLS HERE!

Or, Communism is a setback on the road...to Freedom!

And of course...Better Dead, Than Red!

Same I suppose. Like I said, I'm here for the explosions and the shooty bits.

And for that, Okenido can bite me.

And I would if I didn't pay money to watch women kill each other.

And I would make an actual response to this if I had the time, the balls, and any sort of sense that you made this reply because it made any sort of sense.

I never said you had to pay.

Than again, my fist in your face is payment enough.

It goes higher and higher until it reaches critical levels. It generally has negative effects on your stats, though with the right Perks...

Oh and when I say critical, I mean lethal.

But that only happens once in a blue moon.
