Yes, I payed enough attention to the universe to gather that much. Altough it's not quite clear enough to me how able the brotherhood is in manufacturing their shit, I always thought their Power Armours are kept in working order and are handed down from one guy to the next.

Anyways... I always felt as if there wasn't that much... consistency... when it comes to the available tech in different areas of the games.

Something seems weird for me, I cant quite put my finger on it.

The Brotherhood Power Armor is supposed to be some sort of crappy jury rigged or cheap production model of the PA we know from the prequels.

The "best power armor" I mention is the real deal, an unique suit of armor that is found in some hidden installation, inside a fully operational "stasis field" that has kept it in mint 100% condition since before the War, behind three un-pickable locks that you need to find the keys for all over the Wasteland. Unlike FO3 BOS armor, it is the same model that we have used in FO1 and FO2.

Still, it is only slightly lighter than regular cheap PA (including Enclave armor), it has no penalty to agility and NO enhancement to strength. And it still is only about 1 DR higher than the Ranger Battle Armor, which is just some improved Combat Armor given to you after some easy rescue mission, has half the weight, gives a bonus to Luck, Small Arms and some other thing, and has ZERO penalties to use.

I hope they release the GECK soon, I'm gonna make me some "powered" armor using the model of the Metal Armor which is really sweet and mech-looking without the clunkiness.

Oh, I picked that one up... what's it called? T-54b or something like that?
I thought it had some bonus to it? wasnt it MED+5 or something?

I didnt use it, I mostly wear Regulator Dusters or just the grimy pre-war business suit.

At the current unmodded state of game (and with my character "build" that aims for heavy VATS abuse) it's a lot more challenging.

T-51b, actually.

Possible that what you picked up was actually the medic armour. The T-51b gives a charisma bonus.

I bet the helmet in that armor has really good servos that move your face around making you smile real good!

I like FO3 so far.  I breezed through the first time, pretty much following the main quest, and thought it was a bit small.  Second time round I've ignored the main quest and am hiking around the hills, and there's tons of stuff out there.  Now if I can just work out how to get that SatCom working...   ;D

I hope someone makes a "Vault Overseer" minigame when the SDK comes out. Shouldn't be that hard. Semi-turn based game where you use your Overseer Bucks to torture your subjects in various ways. DF Lite.

Wooo... I got Fallout 3! I love it! Hehe, but it's really more like Fallout Tactics 2 than Fallout 3. Doesn't make it less fun, though ;)

One hting that always bugged me in the fallout universe:

I can never remember which tech is just old, scavenged and running on tinkering skills of the people. Sometimes it seems mankind lost most of their ability to build anything even remotely complicated and there is this scribe restoring liberty one.

Does it add up?
Yup, sure does. Heh, I did a bit of research on this for a game. Technology is a bit weird that way. People have 'rediscovered' a lot of inventions and improved on it in no time. But yeah, you've got a point, it doesn't feel right, feels inconsistent.

Personally, I'm kinda wondering what happened to the rest of the world. Ok, the USA got nuked, but what about the UK, Germany, Russia, Australia, Brazil?

In Fallout 2, a bunch of Chinese submarine sailors created New San Fransico.

No idea what happened to everyone else.

Oh, and raiders. I'm wondering who all these raiders raid. I end up accidentally  uncovering a raider base in FO3 every day. There are like 10 raiders to 1 civilian.

In the old ones, it was a bit more believable, because the cities were all huge and semi-intact, but looks like the biggest city in the Capital Wasteland is Megaton, and it's fairly small.

Maybe it's just unrealistic expectations, though. The game has a more realistic world than every game out there, and I like how.. human it all seems sometimes. Story-wise, I still prefer FO2, but FO3 is a lot more fun to play, thanks to the new combat system.

Ok, I just finished the game in my second run (I had been postponing the last mission for a while, I already hit level 20) and I'm officially disappointed of the ending. There was a fun scene right before it (you know which one) but the ending... ugh. Just ugh. I'm not putting any spoiler tags because the ending is so disappointing that it doesn't deserve to be posted here.

The game itself is quite fun tho, I'm looking forward to modding the heck out of it. I hope more people make mods which change the entire storyline or something. And dialogue (I just wonder if people will manage to make their own dubs that don't sound like crap).
