its a shame black isle is done, and it was obvious that the original feeling of fallout 1&2 can not brought back by another company.

I would have more faith if it is the former Bioware... but they are under the evil claws of EA now. :(
Alpha Protocol is gonna be awesome tho so it's ok.

I'm not going to complain. Complaining about a game that has yet to come out is like complaining about a baby before it's born.

"Pah, he can't even BREATHE on his own. Heck, it doesn't even have a real gender yet! This baby is going to suck. Kicking? It's nothing when compared to the original(me). Look at THIS kick!"

I'm sure game companies like to show off their technical stuff over whatever story elements they have. I mean, how can you advertise that?

" This game has love interests, scandals, consequences for your actions, drama and plot twists! But showing you them would ruin the story, so lets just show you some stuff blowing up."

As for Oblivion, I didn't expect it to be Morrowind II. Or whatever older game plus whatever number it requires. I just expected a game that had all the physical problems of Morrowind fixed. It had it. Granted I would prefer text boxes over voice acting and ditching most of the work used on the faces, some more flavorful dungeons and a bit more heroic feeling of a plot, but I'm fine. Every game has problems.

So yes, wait 'till launch. Although generally games with lots of hype WILL burn in the eyes of the public where games with scarce marketing will be awesome. I guess companies that let creative designers are not dominated by marketing, and companis with bloated marketing departments cant afford to hire people breaking their status-quo.

Duke: Hehehe, you and me would probably never see eye to eye. I feel a compelling necessity to predict the outcomes of every product I know. The businessman's blood in me orders me to do so.  8)

So yes, I'd probably analyze the probably of success of my own unborn child and abort it if I didn't think it would adequately return my investment. Same goes for marriage... and dinner... and religion...

This isn't fallout.

My heart shed a tear the day I heard Bethesda got the Fallout rights, because I knew they'd fuck it up. Hell, I was probably one of the first people who said they would.

Also, why doesn't it say 'Black' instead of 'African American'? Who the hell would ever possibly be insulted by it? I'm from Yugoslavia and I don't request to be called 'Yugoslavian American'.

properbly its just your own imagination of a game you never seen.

it surely will not be fallout 2a
we know not what it will be. maby it will suck. maby it will be just magnificent. we can not know now.

beside:
most of your preconceptionous judgements are related to the teasers vids.
now ask your self: what wuld you put into this vids?
10 minutes of dialogues? strange humor eastereggs? the solution of the storry?

i guess if you think about, you will come to : fancy gfx, nice weapons, and maby (just to satisfy the few remaining fans of the 10 jears old ancestor) some frames of the combat system.
thats at last what i wuld put into the teasers. and its what ive seen within the teasers. so... lets all wait and see what wee will get for our bandwith. money

I lose connectivity and take a sleep, and find out a flamewar has come and gone and I've been called a pundit.  I'm fanning this for no good reason, but I feel obligated to respond.

Just kidding. All I said before, with sarcasm, was that throwing a fit about people's opinion was hypocritical. I just thought it was funny and should be pointed out. He was teaching us that right and wrong do not exist, specially in online arguments, while trying to say you're all wrong bitches, shut up now plz.

I think I'd give him more credit if he has said, literally, "You're all wrong bitches, shut up now and only talk about it after you play the gaem, ktx plz." Cause I couldn't agree with that more than I already. And please note that everything I say about the game, I make sure to add 'seem' to it, cause I really don't know, it all seems that way and if it is, I will not like it. Just my opinion. I never said I couldn't be wrong, I hope I am, I liked fallout 1 and 2 a bit too much.

But I apologize if I looked like a troll.
Apology unnecessary, if you'll let me ramble.  There are no right or wrong elements to put into a game.  Developers can take their work anywhere they feel like taking it.  Fluff especially is not something can be done right or wrong - according to the established game yes, but that's not 'doing it right', nor is ignoring conventions of a franchise 'doing it wrong', as right and wrong relate to concrete definitions.  And as I pointed out, Interplay earned fan ire for deviating from the tone and lore of the first game when making the second.

However, there are right and wrong ways to critizise the developers' decisions.  For instance -
I watched the videos. Originally, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. But now... sigh.

SCATHING WORDS

That's how you make an argument.  Specific points of criticism about known elements.  Just saying, "Bethesda is fucking it up," and leaving that hanging is not an assertion, it's venting.

I really don't care about what Bethesda is doing with Fallout 3, what I care about is poor arguing.  That always makes me the bad guy when I try to bring up argumentative logic in a flame war.  I guess turning a back-patting hatefest into an intellectual discussion takes the fun of it for some people.

I know I really shouldn't get riled up about proper arguing on the Internet, but Fallout 3 just comes up so damn often in the forum.  Out of everything to remember, McDoomhammer put it best - You are not entitled to your ideal game.  And believe me, I know what it's like to watch a franchise you love slip away because a developer doesn't share your memory and vision of it.  I'm a Sonic fan.  Feel for me, dammit.

Oh and Ioric, don't you dare retract your comment.  In all my flame wars, I've never been likened to Bill O'Reilly, and I'll wear that one with pride.  This is the Internet - If you're not the victim of non-sequitur personal insults, you're not trying hard enough.

Meh, as the Creation/Evolution debate is eternal, the "Fanboys hate developers that make sequels that aren't the game they're fanboying" is eternal.

Aqizzar: I did make many points.  Umiman's were just more concise thanks to him being an evil robot or something.

What you're doing isn't promoting good argumentation, what you're doing is bullying others by stating your opinions as fact.  The fact that you take being compared to Bill O'Reilly as a complement though really just ruins any kind of credibility you might have had up to this point.  That man will believe anything that supports his agenda utterly and completely up until the point at which it becomes inconvenient.

You have obviously never played Big rigs: Over the road racing. I never said developers couldn't do whatever they wanted. I always say developers should do whatever they wanted. I only said I didn't like it. =p

Reading between the lines, that wasn't so much taking the comparison as a compliment as it was taking the insult as an indication being taken seriously.  The content of the insult wasn't really important.

You know what the worst thing about fallout 3 is? I know it's going to be sucky but I'm still going to wind up playing it anyway, my brother wants a copy and he is the easily amused gamer type. He'll think anything is good if he can beat it and it has flashy graphics... Damn my brother...

I look forward to the mods. In three years. When an office computer can run it and the fans have finished what Bethesda didn't.
You've got to admit, the fan mods for Bethesda have been fairly good.

Indeed. Some of the things people dislike about Bethesda are counteracted by their adding the ability to mod their games.
