I always thought dwarves hated elves...
« on: August 29, 2008, 11:16:30 am »

Maybe the Caravan was realllllly timely.  I got the following artafact in my latest fortress.  The name is just classic too...

Ungeg Inketh 'The Failure of Justices" a Willow Statue

This is a Willow Statue All craftswarfship is of the highest quality
It is decorated with a turtle shell and encircled with bands of Willow and turtle bone
On the item is an image of a dwarf and a elf in Kaolinite The dwarf is embracing the elf.

I'll upload a screen shot later.

That's what DF needs, The gutbuster brigade.  Screw that elf and his cat. Thibbledorf Pwent is the real hero.

It's Dwarven humour. It's very ironic: a artefact statue made out of a butchered tree, decorated with parts of murdered animals, all of those things that Elves hate to see happening. And -now comes the beautiful part- the image is one of Elven-Dwarven friendship. Who is the genius that made it?

Please note: The dwarf failed to serve the Elf it's justice: Watery death.

The dwarven economy is just a stand-in, from what I understand. As it is, it represents an actual economic system about as well as poison ivy represents a salad.

18+?  That's kinda a quaint warning.
Speaking of which, do Dwarves use Pocket Rocks?

Man, reminds me of my old Shadowrun days.  Had a vampire kick down the door to a party member's house once, he scrounged around, and the only thing he could find was, well...

Ten?

Wow, might as well toss him into magma, dude.

And thus did the dream of dwarven antigravity fade away, not with a massive explosion or a flood of magma, but with a whimper.

I'm going to be depressed all day now.

The statue relates to the strangling of Tre'e lov-er the Elf lord by Urist Scatterbums the Miner in the year 2
