Cowardly military dwarf

I'm running through my military screen looking for my legendary engraver, and notice I've got a  blinking dwarf I never heard of before. So, I go to him and see what he's legendary in: Shield user. Okay, thats fine and useful, let's see what else he's got....talented armor user and novice wrestler. I think the other dwarves are beating him up.

Take away his shield for a bit, so he doesn't shield bash during sparring. Give sparring wrestlers shields, and they'll use them as weapons. If nobody else is wrestling, or everyone else has shields, they will only rarely ever get wrestling experience.

Oh, that explains it. But *ALL* of my wrestlers have ALWAYS had shields and platemail, and I've got 3 champions and an elite.

Yeah I don't think that's right.. remember that in adventure mode you can also wrestle with your shield (ie. grab people's limbs with it somehow), I imagine that's what they're doing when sparring too. I've gotten plenty of legendary wrestlers and I always give everyone a decent shield.
