The Master List of Suggestions

Dear forum members, Ive decided to make a master list topic for the suggestions. Hopefully it will be helpful for Toady.
If you want your suggestions to be added to the list, send me a PM, or just make a reply in the thread, and also don't forget to post a link to your suggestion. [I will also try to track down the new suggestions and I will add them to the list]

Notes:

1. Not all of the suggestions will be added, only the "major" suggestions. IE: If you suggest something like "new ore types", that wont be on the list.
However if you have some really constructive suggestion, like a detailed topic about how to improve the siege AI, well that will be added of course.

2. Do not post any suggestions in this topic. Your suggestion must have its own topic, and the link of that topic will be added to the master list.

You should start off with the managed lists.  I've got a mechanics one in my sig, and Othob Rithol did a pretty good job with underground diversity and the Guild ones are neat too.

The ones I like:
Useful artifacts
Pollution
Water leaking from doors (or breaking them)
Prospecting
Item hardness taken into account (i.e. iron picks > copper, rock anvils)
Prospector/Geologist

You should start off with the managed lists.  I've got a mechanics one in my sig, and Othob Rithol did a pretty good job with underground diversity.  Hopefully he'll put the header info back into his Guild one, despite the hissy fit he pitched when people were more interested in talking guild politics as a fortress social dynamic than GM's magic powers.  That had some good info in it (both on the magic powers and the politics.)

The "Gms magic powers" as you put it was the topic of the thread. You'll find it is back, in a separate thread, and the one that got taken over has been renamed to suit its new topic. You'll notice in the header of the forums it asks you to not completely derail a thread. I've already apologized in two places for losing my temper, so let's ditch the flaming okay?

Throwing Re-evaluate Room Value Calculations.  A better idea is to have prices based on what's available and what everyone has, yadda yadda, but that's far far more work and already in the Dev Notes.  I linked directly to the formula I worked out, which while complex, should be easy to implement.  It'll also push the need to do a proper supply-demand function off, as no one will be dying to see it (as the room values won't be so skewed anymore).
