To those who don,t know how to use meebo, its very simple. First load up meebo.com, then type your email and password into the bottom right box (don't worry they wont steal it(i hope)). then you will have a window open in the right hand corner and there should be a smiley with an '+' on it. click that and start adding other folks email and hey presto you have lift off.

Read the Rules

Make a character

Two step process. Make sure you don't pick a race with level adjustment or extra HD, as that will mess with your ECL.

Can I join in?

I've not had an opportunity to play much, but I make up for that by knowing the majority of the rules by rote. I'll be playing by meebo, if you guys let me in.

What are we doing for storing the character sheets?

Another question, for rolling attributes, are we just using the standard setting?
What level are we starting at? I thought I read six earlier, but I just wanted to check.

I'm thinking of creating a wizard character. Any suggestions to a newbies?

Also, I'm quite flexible. If we really need someone to fill a particular role, I can probably do it. I don't need to play a spellcaster, I'm just the sort that enjoys doing so.

Once you've got it made, copy-paste it into an MS_word (or any text program other than notepad, and notepad will do at a pinch, but notepad WILL damn the skills section and a few other parts. It looks much nicer and easier to read on ms word or open office.) Once you've got it into a document, send it to me via email.

It should be noted that I currently have on my MSN friends list in the D&DF folder, these people. (Note that when gametime comes (note that I have no idea when this is) people who are actually online and able to communicate with me (In other words, the people who have added me on MSN) will take precedence in playing over those who merely posted something about wanting to play. I believe I shall at this point restrict it to six players and one DM, with myself having the sixth )

So, in other words:

The players:
Shadow_Archmagi
Jetman -Cleric
Rick -Sorcerer
Boks -Wizard
Kyselina
Technomancer

The DM: ??? (Shadow_archmagi if no one else signs up)

High Dex, High Con, but don't sacrifice Int for it. Try to stay out of reach. Improved Initiative and Combat Casting are your best friends. Go ahead and make him or her evil, you'll get access to nicer stuff that way. Don't worry about your Cha, nobody want to talk to the crazy evil wizard anyway.  ;D

Erm, I wasn't aware good and evil mattered from a wizard. A cleric, sure, thats good/evil based. But a wizard is no more evil from having enemies souls imploded and their minds crushed to tatters than he is from having enemies slowly fried to a crisp by laser beams.

I've actually been considering two possibilities. Firstly, a conjurer, and secondly, an illusionist multiclassing into rogue. I've put more thought into the rogue one, I'd probably use a buckler and leather armor with the still spell feat. That would probably require all my stats to be at least decent though. The conjurer could have a lot more specialized stats. Might not be the best possibilities gameplay-wise, but hell, I think they're cool ideas. That's way more important in my opinion. So long as I don't completely screw up the character, that is.

EDIT: Or perhaps going sorcerer/rogue?

Actually (this is the THIRD time its come up this week) there exists a class known as the "beguiler" in the players handbook 2. The beguiler gets slightly fewer skills than a rogue (2 less every level) but gains the power to cast a wide variety of illusion and mind-affecting spells.

If you don't own the players handbook 2, it is exceedingly easy to "acquire" a PDF, if you understand my meaning.

Ah. Since there's a whole class, I suppose I can't really resist the allure of it.

GLEE! :D

So I'll just go acquire this PH2, then, shall I? Don't bother answering, I'm already on it.

Also, as pleasant as this is, why not get on MSN? You've got me added and everything, and it makes a tad more sense than cluttering up this thread with back-and-forth posting.

My thoughts exactly.  I've read through the 4th Edition books and it's just a mess of weird math to me.  GURPS is extremely simple - namely, simple enough to be explained and understood without a rulebook even.

...  What is this "4th Edition" you speak of?  Are you sure you aren't thinking of World of Warcraft?

So I've figured out what I'm spending my 13,000 on:
Bracers of Armor (1000 gp)- Add a +1 to my AC (helpful, since I can't wear armor)
Gloves of Dexterity +2 (4000 gp)- That +2 means an extra +1 to Reflex, Initiative, and AC. Yay!
Ring of Sustenance (2500 gp)- Keeps me fed, get 8 hours of sleep in 2. Gotta love it. I may get rid of it  though, since our Wizard is going to need 8 anyway.
Lockpicking Ring (3500 gp)- +5 lockpicking, 1/day Knock.
Rod of Grievious Wounds (2000 gp)- 5/day 1d8+5 healing to all adjacent creatures. Just in case our box of bandaids runs out before we run out of wounds.

I may change the Rod and the Sustenance Ring. Any suggestions?

EDIT: A few 1st level Pearls of Power could be fun. Thinking about it.
EDIT2: Or a few Eternal Wands of various first level spells. Hmm...
