I could try joining, although I have no experience in D&D. At all.

I'd like to be DM, though lacking the books will make it very difficult

So, if there are no objections:

1. The setting is a world randomly generated by the DM. Standard D&D monsters exist, so trolls and displacer beasts and illithids can be encountered. They'll just have to be manually incorporated by the DM.

2. Dungeons will, accordingly, be based off goblin towers or dwarf fortresses (although they may be repopulated with nondwarfs).

3. Backstory Suggestion:

In 863, the legendary warrior Tamarind Nethel began his quest. Over the next four years he travelled the lands strangling minotaurs and pickpocketing kobolds.

Gradually, he began to develop a following until soon he was not a solitary adventurer at all but the mighty leader of a feared band of heroes. They set out across the plains, heading for the mountains. He promised he would explain everything when they arrived. On the third day of travel, the party awoke to find their heroic leader missing.

Missing his throat that is.

4. And the character level shall be 6.

Kashyyk, if you want to DM go ahead; it is amazing what you can do with an SRD and utorrent.

Right, I'll use some stuff from RuneQuest and start making the map tomorrow. Shall I make the heroes for you or will you roll them yourselves?

I'll gladly join in, though I prefer more freeform systems like GURPS.  I used to play quite a bit of D&D as a teenager.

Had a great ongoing campaign in the Planescape worldset, where I got my butt handed to me by the Lady of Pain (I called her a bitch and kneecapped her).  Or the time we killed a mayor by turning invisible and throwing potions at him from the roof.  Or the time we ran a campaign in The Elder Scrolls world, and I burned down Pelagiad trying to heal myself with a Rod of Wonder.  Or that time fighting the world's biggest dragon ("The hill bites you.")

Ah D&D...

Heard so much of it,mostly damn stereotypes.
I've been interested for quite some time, but I have never seemed to wrap myself around the rules.(just so because I can get so much and then there's STILL a little bit more, then "brainwave OVERLOAD!")

I don't have MSN.  Also, it doesn't seem like much fun playing a DF adventure mode style game with the D&D combat system.  Most of the fun of that mode involves the much more realistic combat system.

The idea isn't the recreate DF in D&D. The idea is to play a perfectly normal game of D&D with lots and lots and lots and lots of DF references thrown in. I'm always looking for a game, and I figured this would be a good community to try to find mature and intelligent people in.

Oh... well, I don't have MSN I don't think.  I don't really like heavily hack and slash style D&D games anyway.  Which I'd assume this will be if it's DF inspired, so I think I'll pass.  Hope you guys have fun though.

Eh, I was interested in it at one point. But I've never played it. Using it in a DF setting? I dunno, there's nothing that re-

I have some experience DMing, however I've done too much of it lately and would much prefer a player. Consider me an emergency DM.

I'm a little busy at the moment, so can you add me? dmuir92@hotmail.com for MSN.
