So I download http://www.geocities.com/jifodus/tables/dwarvis/v0.28.181.40c.core.xml and place it into tweak/versions/0.28.181.40c, right?

This link goes no where.

So there's that, as well. It looks like the only chronic problems that water can't cure are nausea and cave spider bites.
Which, coincidentally enough, can be cured by magma.

That's the .xml file you place into /tweak/versions/0.28.181.40c as core.xml according to http://www.dwarffortresswiki.net/index.php/User_talk:Rick/Tweak#How_I_got_tweak_to_work_with_39f

First, if you don't already have access to the hash code for the current version of DF, you need to run DF, run Tweak, and then (this is from memory) choose File->Open Process, or click the magnifying glass on the toolbar.  Confirm that you want to open the process with the specified ID if it asks you, and it should give an error regarding not recognizing the hash.  Copy that hash down, and then open Tweak/versions.xml.  Copy one of the lines, update the version string and the hash string to represent the latest version.  Once you have done that, then the folder under Tweak/versions/ that shares the same name as the version string you just entered into versions.xml will be accessible.

Here's a link to the whole directory of tweak config files.  Just pick the one which matches the version you're using, in this case .40c .  http://www.geocities.com/jifodus/tables/dwarvis/

I copied the hash down and new folder and placed the core in (after renaming it correctly), but it still doesn't work.

My favorite artifact was "The Frenzy of Choking", a sapphire chain with spikes of jaguar bone and spikes of sapphire on it. It would seem pretty average if it wasn't for the name...

I want it.

Not only is it not actually advertising anything, it's just copy/pasting word salads about gold, runescape, oil, yuan, and handbags.  It's like a transporter accident combined all the spambots into one shambling mass of online sales.

Geocities has closed, so where do I get the core.xml for 40d16?

I don't know, but in the meantime you could always load the saves into 40d, do whatever you need, save, quit and load them back into 40d17.

When I downloaded Tweak I didn't have to do anything to make it work with 40D, I think. But in case I'm wrong, here: http://filebin.ca/ywtxvn/0.28.181.40d.zip

The thing is, I'm using Dig Dwarfier (A Visual version of Dig Deeper)
