I just killed my first Cyclops.

In fact that is the biggest thing I have killed yet. I walked away over-exert and with a broken left thumb and some bruised fingers. My spearman and I double-teamed him. I fought him alone for a couple of turns before my spearman comes from behind and starts stabbing at him. All the of his and my attacks usually glance off and I usually block all of the cyclops moves. Eventually I stab out his eye with my iron short sword and everything is going good. Everyone, the cyclops, the spearman, and I are all laying on the ground over-exert at the end. The cyclops at the ends up breaking almost every joint in the spearmans body and then punches him in the lower body causing it to explode in gore.

After some more hacking and slashing I manage to break his lower spine and cut his upper body. He bleeds to death and I am victorious. Now time to loot some of the spearmans ex-stuff and run away, far away.

Run away!? Not before you go back to town and find some more meatsheilds. (Just to let you know, if you want lots of companions, go to a forest retreat, there are a lot of elves and most of them will follow you, as the elves are generally unskilled. (Besides the bowmen.)

You didn't train beforehand, didn't you? Just pick up random stuff and throw it. Sneak, instead of walk. Swim while sneaking. When fighting random encounters, wait until they're unconscious and wrestle them to death, when you're strangling them, walk away and start over. When they're dead, grab the limbs and corpse and throw it at something. And remember: sneak, walking is for pussies.

From "Angroshs Kinder" Das schwarze Auge Zwergenhandbuch - (Angrosh Children, the dark eye, german pen&paper, dwarven handbook):
"Elves!? Their men dont wear beards, and their women bathe nacked to lure you into the water and drown you. Thank Angrosh they are as ugly as the day and all big and skinny."

Hi!

I want to congratulate you for this great achievement.

Personally, I do not see what is interesting in using the throwing bug in order to defeat powerful enemies using vomit, or flies, or whatever. Therefore, I like to hear from people taking a proper weapon in their hand and using that weapon as it should be used.

I realize that defeating a cyclops this "old-fashioned way" is hard work, so I honestly applaud you for the great battle.

And you score extra with me because you came with just one proper companion and not dozens of poor drunks just meant as a diversion.

Thus, you get a two thumbs up from me.
