Forgive the thread necromancy..
I broke down and did the digital download and I am very pleased with the game. I had never played the tabletop version, but have played several other Games Workshop products over the years. I assume that most hardcore fans have already acquired this title, but for those who know nothing about Blood Bowl, it is worth looking at. We may look at doing a Bay 12 league at some point, not sure when the Xbox 360 version comes out, nor am I certain when the physical package for the PC is due, but I hear they will be adding two more races (Undead and Dark Elves) with the mass release, which should be downloadable by the digital folks. The regular public multiplayer league is bunk IMO, too many people scuming wins off of newbs, but the game is pretty fun. If you are not familiar with it, think chess meets American football/rugby with role playing elements, ridiculously random events and brutality. Graphics are fair becuase they represent the table top miniatures well, the rules are straight from the Games Workshop game, and is reasonably bug-free. All and all, I was surprised with the game really, and have spent far too much time playing lol. From what I understand, the table top game can take years to master, the speed of computer based game will reduce the learning curve, as with the diversity of an online player pool, but still even after about 80 hours of messing with various teams and reading a multitude of strategy playbooks I am at a novice level. Just wanted to give some more exposure to this fine game.
