+1 is good, but +2 becomes dangerous, and +3 is a lot of problems. You will get overshots a lot. 1 or 2 will get you a good action, but 3 or higher is going to be over the top, and will cause collateral damage.

Actually, I just realized something... If the amulet thing is thought-based, I try to calm down and ease my pain instead.

... Changed my mind again. If I can get either a 1, a 2, a 5 or a 6 I should just attempt to magically fix my arms. I still try to mess with the amulet if it's somehow not considered thought-based though.

Even +1s are strange if you think about it : It's possible to lose a leg from trying to do a step back but the worst that can happen when using necromancy is overdoing it a little ?

I try to crush the elephant inwards as well(think spherical gravity foucsed on the ground in the middle of it's position), and I try to learn from the experience.

What, Cyx? With a necromancy overshot, I was thinking that Wooty would summon a hostile small army of zombies.

As for magics, I'll explain it here. Don't read it if you want to be surprised.

First, you get a +1 to general skill use. Then you get a situational +1. The situational bonus is usually real risky, like +1 to necromancy while bleeding heavily. Then you get the ability to stop yourself from getting an overshot if the overshot was caused by bonuses (i.e. if the base roll wasn't a six) every few turns. I haven't thought of much more.

How about add a once every X turns auto 5(can have two versions,one that only works outside a natural 1,and then a true auto 5).

This would be a hard one to get to but can be a real reward.

Then I'd say the skill should be maxed out,as you would have reached the pinnacle without unbalancing the game.

Yeah 6s are dangerous but, what I meant is, it's strange that being a good necromancer makes you basically better at necromancy than at plain walking. Not that strange since this is what RTD is but strange anyway. (I do know talking about these kind of rules is useless since Penguin decides everything randomness doesn't and does it reasonably (walking works good on a 3, necromancy not so much). So actually, disregard that.)

Yeah, simple actions without too many results (eg. walking) will work the same on a five as on a three. Sometimes you'll have a six without unexpected results.

I'll try to get this up today. The election slowed everything down for a bit.
