Every time. I painstakingly spend five minutes updating them and then something always goes wrong.

I stop the bleeding through any means available to me, learning a little about first aid as I go (could use some help here).

I do my best to help Frelock, as well as try to learn about first aid in the process.  If possible, I will try to reattach his leg with my magic, hopefully (once again) learning about healing.

So now, I'll let Sean handle his transmutations himself since he can use his serum if it gets dangerous. I attempt to transmute my cotton toga into a segmented iron toga armor suit.

hmm... I'm not sure if +2s would be game breaking or not,I know +3s would but +2s sound like overkill to me.

On the most basic of powers,like omegaalpha's healing or my electricity manipulation,how would they grow beyond a +1 without unbalancing gameplay?

I think they probably wouldn't increase more than +1. Instead, maybe you'd get a safeguard, preventing you from getting an overshot 6 or something, or maybe you'd get an extra roll if you fail to determine if you get atleast a small thing right out of your action...
