It'll be alright.  Besides, swamps have always had problems.    :D

PowerGoal0.5, RELEASE THE HOUNDING, (Present):  Impatient fans repeatedly F5 the dev. and home pages, anxious to get the new version as soon as possible.  Numbers of weary fans retire for the night, even two in the morning, in axiety that, at that moment, it might have been released.

What are your thoughts?

I'd prefer the game not be massively broken when I download it.  Its all fine and dandy to have us hunt for bugs, but its easier to fix a bug when Toady himself finds it rather than having to read our vague descriptions in the bugs forum and have to hunt for it in the code himself.

Yeah I'd prefer Toady release it when he's good and ready.   Partially because it's best for the game but mostly because that is what Toady will do.

I was actually thinking that it couldn't hurt to release it as an alpha-alpha, since it'd be caveat ludor, but you know people these days.  They see a bug, they scream bloody murder, they never touch it again, and they cry themselves to sleep.

I'd be happier if it was released as-is right now with some major warnings (and no official announcement), since I'd accept any show stoppers at face value.  ("It hurts when I do this."  "Then don't do it.")  However, I'm willing to accept waiting; I imagine it'll be worth it.

I think Toady should release it when he's ready. I also would love to see him send an early release link to anyone who's supported him. I sent hime a bit a month ago, and would send more if it would get it to me faster.

I am literally running up and down my walls. An early release would save me from insanity, I think.

I love that idea about no announcement. Toady just changes the dev list and changes the download but doesn't tell anyone. Then wait how long before people realize what happened. That would be... interesting.

No... it would just push you far enough over the edge you'd never notice the change.

It's a matter of creative pride, I believe. Most good programmers do not want to release something with obvious problems, and there's no point in releasing a ground-breaking new version when you're certain there are bugs in it. There's also probably the issue of bandwidth.

It'll be ready when it's ready.

Creator of this topic:  Just STFU.  Yeah I'm rude.  Yeah you're being a lot ruder.  I don't like impatient people, and you remind me of people that pass on the right at 20 over the speed limit.  Maybe this is just me personally, but when I'm working on a project, this behavior drives me out of my MIND.

You wouldn't hassle a painter to release his creation a couple weeks early.  Why do you think it's okay when it's a programmer?

For everyone who's all impatient and just can't wait:  Here's an idea.  Stop checking the forums every day.  Heck, stop reading the dev notes.  Glance at the wiki maybe: you can bet that will be updated when the next version comes out (or when a release date is set).  Fussing over it won't make the game come any faster, and you seem to have anticipation problems.

No need to be harsh on them like that, Sowelu. I propose a different solution, and one that works perfectly, if you can do it: Get a life.

Way to serious!   :(  I tried to make it apparent that I wasn't serious with the Power Goals thing.  In any case, I'm sorry for offending you and whomever else.

Don't mind me.  I'm just pissy because someone has made a new "Please release the game right now" topic like every week for the last three months or something.

Pet peeve.
