..there's a growin' feelin' of hysteria. Conditioned to respond to overt threats from the rhetorical speeches of the soviets dwarves.

Wait.

That made me think. There is no system at all at the momemt for explosions right?
That would be awsome, just something that could decimate a radius of X tiles based on attributes. would make it intresting to drop said bomb design into vulcnos and stuff like that.

I have several Uranium reactions in the mod I'm working on. There's not that much you can do with it yet, but it's possible to make Depleted Uranium bolts. =D

Off topic: I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds Deathworks extremely annoying, but I think you're going a bit too far, Sheezy.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

All I find annoying about Deathworks is my inability to determine the gender of his avatar...

Conversely, Sheezy's avatar is quite annoying, probably mostly because of the slight, but jarring difference between his and Deathwork's avatar. It's like suddenly stubbing a toe; not that painful, but surprising.

I also always pondered about pitchblende (and failed to look it up), shouldn't the dwarves that mined it atleast not get sick from it?

Maybe that's why they're so short. Birth defects caused by radon poisoning.

#bay12games
Windsor.UK.EU.WorldIRC.Org
Brussels.BE.EU.WorldIRC.Org
PalmSprings.CA.US.WorldIRC.Org
Bliesen.DE.EU.WorldIRC.Org

I don't know if all of those are valid anymore, but some of them work.  I also don't remember if that's all you need to know.

As for Sheezy, he had Deathworks's avatar, but murdered, and some insulting text.  I don't remember so much about the IRC except that Hitler came up (of course).

Uranium wasn't even known as an element until two centuries ago, dwarves, like humans of the time, probably don't realize Pitchblende is an actual metal ore.

Although it was used in ancient times for coloring glass... maybe Toady will add that use at some point.

Uranium metal is just slightly weaker than steel, but very dense.  Unfortunately, refining Pitchblende into Uranium metal isn't a easy as simply smelting it.
