Trade good. Also can be used in built animal traps, but i don't think theres anything specifically attracted by them yet.

Rhesus macaques maybe.  Or any other critters that steal goods.  Macaques the only ones I've had any issues with.

Animal traps are for vermin, cage traps are for larger animals.

What do they teach in schools these days?  :P

Heh, I've mostly only made glass on requests or on special occasions, as my bags are used to mill and process stuff.. But thanks for the idea anyway, if he goes crazy again. I just locked the hammerer in his room though, and a miner (what?) got put in jail for 51 days. He can do with the timeout.

Scratch that. Took a look at my fort's jewelers last night and realized I have a legendary gem setter and two competent gem cutters.

Why, thanks ! I have a countess fond of large gems and absolutely no jeweller, and I didn't knew (or more probably just forgot) you could make large glass gems. I'll still have to train a peasant, but anyway, my dwarves will be able to sleep in peace, not fearing dwarven justice any more.

Racoons also steal goods. I think that's all though.

All in all, Rhesus are the worst.

Rhesus's are the worst until they hit your weapon traps and become rhesus phesus.

Thanks for the glass advice! It might be that my gem cutter likes green glass or something else about it, but now he's made 2 large gems out of 15 raw green glasses as opposed to 1 large gem from approximately 50-60 nice ones ;D I'm glad, because other than that, my count mostly asks for rose gold items, and I've hit gold and copper veins enough for a hundred mugs, so he's mostly harmless.

Or maybe the amount of gems I had him cut pushed him up to legendary +5 or something similar. I don't know. But it works!

Potash making and milking

Anyway, tossing the gemcutter immigrants to borderpatrol and instead training peasants who like green glass goes a long way in getting you the gems you need. Striving for excellence also seems to do the trick. I like to think it's not just superstition when Talented crafters churn out masterworks with the appropriate personality traits every now and then

Now if only I could sort the damn job list, scrolling down because of the conversation skill clutter is tiresome

Thanks, also btw sorry for reviving this topic but I dont see the point in starting a new one.

I also need large gems but i am cuting them now and dont have any yet, with a finite amount I was thinking, start making glass, so does it still work to make large glass gems , its just I checked the wiki and it says you cant however after reading this topic it seems like you can?

I havent tried making glass yet, I hope it isnt too bad to setup

Another thing on the mandate it has large gems 1/1 does that mean I have met the mandate?
