Heh, bring on the dwarf dreadnoughts! Armok knows we have enough crippled dwarves.

I have a cat, which is hardly unique here id bet, but her name is Sparkles. Named by an 8 year old girl, the collar reads "Spackles".

Here is some of my work:  :D. The only problem with such things is that you are wearing a massive and very efficient heat sink/conductor.

Stand in the sun for too long? Youll bake! And even mild windchill turns killer.

I'm Scottish! My school featured in 'Project Gotham Racing: 2', I believe and
I'm probably the only fluent Gaelic speaker here.

Well I am 14 years old, my brother is 11 and he also plays DF.
So we are the youngest ones.

I'm 14.
If I saw DF when I was 11 I would've thought it looked lame.

Also female, also (former) computer technician.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only medical transcriptionist here.    :D

I believe I may be the only player who wonders how to draft a stark raving mad dwarf into a death company squad.

For the Emperor, Guilliman. [:

[Edit:] I do also feel safe to assume that I'm the only person on this here forum that has flown an old Stearman Biplane from Florida to Maine and back with their father.

I'm a Chemical Biology student in sweden, and a fan of... of... Not much really except DF and Death/Black Metal.  Who knows, maybe no-one shares those interests on this board. :P

Very true, oil will be gone in about 10-20 years, but, what's worse, all COPPER will be mined in about 20 years so goodbye electronics, except for recycling.

According to my father (a fairly well known geologist) we shouldn't really have to worry about any metals or even oil in the forseeable future.  Reserves are growing much faster than consumption, and the high prices right now are due to worry and lack of processing capacity rather than any real lack of ressources.  Heck, most places haven't even been prospected yet.  So we'll still be playing DF in a hundred years no doubt.

Oh, and nice to see all the women round here.

MyLittlePonyBuiltMyHotRod, this is your first warning. I would like to direct you to read our forum's FAQ and posting guidelines before posting again. Specifically we don't use swear words here, and your picture of Stalin riding a Year3 Limited Edition Starflower inside a German concentration camp was both upsetting and historically inaccurate.

The Tallies:
Renaissance Faire:---3---5.45-----I seriously expected more.
Geeks:---------------21--38.18----General class. Me, for instance.
Female:--------------6---10.91----Wait, WHAT? That's more than there are Tolkien fans!!!
Medical:-------------3---5.45-----As many as there are Renaissance guys.
Arizona:-------------2---3.64-----It is apparently hot there.
Slavic/Norwegian?:---6---10.91----Misc. Northern Hemisphere
Harry Potter:--------3---5.45-----Spoiler: HE KILLS RON!
Poker Geeks:---------2---3.64-----Poker? I 'ardly know 'er!
WH 40k:--------------6---10.91----Space Dwarfs.
Southern Hemisphere:-3---5.45-----Everybody not in north, plus Mexico.
Total:---------------55--100------I know it is all vaguely, if not glaringly bigoted, but eh. I like mad magazine is why.

So, what have we learned. Well, um, apparently Toady one has reached over into the Sims demographic, and tho WH39.999 demographic. I never would have guessed that was even possible. Also, Potter and Poker. Germanic/Nordic and Mexican/Newzelandi. Renaissance and the Medical profession. Arizonians and other human beings. It is a veritable melting pot of a stew of a mix of cultures. I am simply in awe.

Does it throw things off if at least one of the females is also a Tolkien fan?

Well, I'm not a girl, but I do have a beard. I'm ashamed to say it probably wouldn't pass for a true dwarven beard.

This forum is indeed a wonderful place. Great thread topic, btw.
