I'm willing to bet i'm the only person with 2/3rd of the workshops and 3/4 races modeled in 3D on my harddisk ready for my own secret plan.

It's called fluidics, and there are fluidics based backup systems on most new military planes.

That's rather insane. When I say that I wonder how to build logic circuits with water, this could equally apply to magma, steam, dwarves, or other ASCII-represented objects, not so much the real world.

One particular fact I'm wondering about is how one might build a NOT gate without NANDs within the game.

By the way, when you play Dwarf Fortress under Wine, do you suffer a speed hit relative to playing on the same machine with Windows?

Slowdown?
FreeBSD ia32 (32 bit)? no. FreeBSD amd64 (64 bit native)? yes (badly... no nvidia binaries)
xubuntu i386? yes. xubuntu x64? yes.
winXP 32 bit (baseline) winXP x64 edition? no.
I have no idea why, but that's how things work for me.  running athlon 64 x2 3800+ s939 with 1GB dual channel pc3200 DDR and a BFG 7900GS/OCE 256MB PCIE.

Nope, you're not alone. (Well, it's the Ukraine today so maybe it doesn't count.)

Actually, now that I think of it - I'm the only one to have been within a 100 miles of a major nuclear disaster.

So does that make you the only one on this board who glows green in the dark too, or does it not effect that far?  :D

Don't mind me I'm high on free samples of Dentine Blast. (like 20 at once)

I don't want to belabour a point or anything, nor do I wish to start an argument, but I do want to ask a genuine question: what on earth is a furry?

Wikipedia has a decent article. Really, the term is about as meaningless now as something that has way too many meanings.

Future! We agreed we wouldn't discuss our embarrassing sexual fetishes. I'm with you on this one, but let's not disturb the natives. ;(

Talking about languages, I love Hangul (Korean alphabet) mostly because it's an artificial script (didn't evolve naturally from some type of earlier alphabet) and it's artificiality shows in it's weirdness.

Iranian typographies are fascinating too.

Maybe it's a derail but it supports my uniqueness credentials  :p
